The International Programs Office is a structural unit of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism. IPO’s mission is to initiate active correspondence and to establish close partnerships with foreign universities, and national and international organizations around the world. The office is responsible for regulating the admission of students to double degree programs between the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Sahid Polytechnic in Jakarta, Sahid Tourism Institute of Surakarta and Guilin Tourism University in China. IPO also assists in accommodating and registering incoming foreign students and academic staff members. Furthermore, the office supports and implements international conferences and seminars that are initiated by the University.
The “Silk Road” International University of Tourism is currently working with the United Nation’s World Tourism Organization to attain a TedQual Certificate in the near future. The UNWTO is also supporting the university with a set of webinars and teaching expertise, and in addition, the Japanese Tourism Bureau (JTB) is also planning to assist the university with seminars to assist in the restructuring of the university. IPO is the responsible body corresponding with the UNWTO and JTB to help expand the university’s potential to reach high international standards. Together with these projects, the office is also working on setting up credit mobility, student and teacher exchange, and teacher training programs with university partners abroad.
