On August 27, 2019, representatives of World Friends KOICA (Korea) paid a working visit to the «Silk Road» International University of Tourism. Within the framework of the World Friends KOICA volunteer program, were discussed issues of promoting the organization of joint research projects and research programs, holding joint seminars and scientific and practical conferences, the implementation of joint innovative projects with the possible involvement of other interested parties at the “Silk Road” University
I would like to note that the Korean Volunteer Movement was developed with the creation of KOICA in 1991. The Agency was created to provide free assistance to developing countries on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Korea. World Friends Korea is known in 34 countries. In all these countries, volunteers share the Korean experience in developing the state.
According to KOICA, the first Korean volunteers appeared in Uzbekistan in 1995 after an agreement was reached between the two foreign ministries. In that year, only 10 people were sent to Uzbekistan, currently about 79 volunteers operate in areas such as education, healthcare and public administration (e-government).
