DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION
During a visit to Antalya, a delegation of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism held talks and signed an agreement and a Memorandum with two key organizations in Turkey.
The visit of representatives of the “Silk Road” University to Akdeniz University began with a visit to the International Faculty of Tourism, which is crucial for the development of cooperation. As part of this unit of the university, a whole range of training areas is being implemented in a variety of tourist areas.
During the meeting, was signed a Memorandum of Understanding between universities in general and an agreement was concluded that includes a plan for the development of joint educational programs, academic exchange both at the student and teacher level in the format of scientific practice and programs for visiting professors, as well as teamwork in various research projects.
Also during the discussion, representatives of the delegation discussed issues of further expanding the areas of scientific, educational and cultural cooperation between universities, organizing summer internships for students in hotels in Antalya (Turkey).
I would like to note that the “Silk Road” University has an active student exchange program, implements the training of highly qualified personnel on the principles of the integration of science, education and innovation, which consists in the formation and development of the tourism sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
For reference: Akdeniz University is one of the leading classical universities in Turkey. The history of Akdeniz began in 1982, when several higher education institutes located in Antalya, Burdur and Isparta were combined into a single university. Today Akdeniz is one of the largest in the country. About 32,000 students study in it. Currently, the university includes 18 faculties, 7 institutes, 5 colleges, 1 conservatory, 11 vocational schools and 48 research and applied centers. Akdeniz is an honorary member of the Association of European Universities. He takes an active part in international programs and projects, for example, Leonardo and Erasmus (since 2003).
