On February 12, 2020 a representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), represented by Ms. Edith Shivas, International Tourism Skills Specialist and National Tourism Expert and ADB Consultant Farrukh Irnazarov made a working visit to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.
The purpose of this visit is to hold meetings with key public and private stakeholders to conduct a case study of supply and demand in the education and skills sector in the tourism industry in the country, assess individual educational institutions and tourism programs to assess skill gaps in terms of quantity and quality.
Also during the meeting were discussed issues of attracting foreign students through a grant system financed by Asia Development Bank and the possibilities of organizing a systematic and annual internship and the exchange of teachers and students between foreign universities were considered.
