The Administration of the “Silk Road” University announces the beginning of Presidential elections to the Student Parliament.

Presidential elections to the Student Parliament of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism are held according to the following criteria:

• voluntariness;
• publicity;
• impartiality;
• equality;
• initiative.

Presidential candidates must be purposeful, self-confident, have an active life position, leadership qualities and organizational skills.
Each full-time student has the right to vote and be elected to the Student Parliament. No privileges or restrictions on voting rights are allowed.
Each full-time student can nominate a candidate for President of the Student Parliament personally on their own behalf.

What is required of presidential candidates?

• know at least three languages: Uzbek, Russian and a foreign language;
• nominate a candidate for Vice-President;
• prepare a short video on the theme “I am the President of the Student Parliament” which should cover the plans for the future work, the strategic vision on this post and a free theme.

We hope that every student wish to become President of the Student Parliament will approach this important step efficiently, and most importantly, responsibly.

From 24 to 27 of November at the Silk Road International University of Tourism took an online webinar as part of the new project “The Model for sustainable tourism in Central Asia: capacity-building, awareness raising, introduction of new technologies”.

The event was organized by the Department of tourism development of the Samarkand region, the Association of private tourism organizations of Uzbekistan and the Silk Road International University of Tourism, which is an associate partner of the project “The Model for sustainable tourism in Central Asia: capacity building, awareness raising, technology implementation”.

Within 4 days, the teaching staff, formed from competent specialists and experts from the European Union countries, made every effort through online training to raise awareness of the training participants in the issues of environmental certification and the feasibility of implementing “green technologies”. Industry specialists have gained additional knowledge on environmental management at tourism enterprises. This means that the level of "sustainable tourism" and the degree of introduction of "green technologies" in the hotel business in the Republic of Uzbekistan will steadily increase.

The 3^rd “One Belt, One Road, One Tourism” International Conference on “Contemporary Approaches and Intercultural Communications in Development of Tourism on Silk Road” will be hosted by “Silk Road International University of Tourism” and will be held online (in videoconferencing format based on the internet platform, the identification number and password for the connection will be provided in addition) at 1000 on December 22, 2020.

The conference is organized in cooperation with the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development and Beijing International Studies University (China).

The main purpose of the International conference is to develop scientific-methodological and practical proposals and recommendations on the role of Intercultural Communications in the development of tourism in the countries of the Great Silk Road, as well as to create an international platform for exchange of experiences.

Research papers and abstracts submitted for the conference will be published free of charge as conference proceedings in the form of an electronic collection.

The conference is open to foreign and local scholars, university professors, practitioners, staff of research institutes, doctoral and independent researchers, master's and bachelor's students with their papers and abstracts.

Forms of participation are as follows:
- Oral presentation, visual presentation, participation in the discussion of reports, discussions;
- Publication of research papers.

❗ The working language of the conference is English.

The main topics of the conference:

1. Analysis of the current state of tourism in the Silk Road countries and strategies for the development of tourism in pandemic and postpandemic conditions
2. The importance of language and culture in intercultural communication
3. Strategies for expanding international cooperation in the development of tourism.

From October 2019 to the present day, according to the 5-year Creative Spark project of the British Council, the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism operated the “English Speaking Club”, the main purpose of which was to learn English, as well as to prepare and teach students independent office work..

Today, on November 25, the results of the activities of the English Speaking Club were summed up in a solemn atmosphere.

At the meeting, the curator of the club Abduvahabova U. noted that she was glad to have the experience of running the club, and wished all the members of the club success in their studies and achieving their goals. In addition, First Vice-rector Eltazarov J., noted that

"Students are the future of the country and creators of the New Uzbekistan. Participation in such language clubs contributes to the accumulation of experience and skills that will become the foundation of their professional field in the future".

The meeting resulted in the presentation of memorable gifts and certificates to the members of the English Speaking Club.
