The Department of "Uzbek language, literature and social Sciences" of the «Silk road» International University of Tourism announces a video contest on the theme: "Uzbek language, you are always worthy of respect and devotion", dedicated to the day of the Uzbek language holiday.

Participants are required to record a video with an expressive performance of poems and songs praising the state language and send it by Telegram to @Tulkin_Sultanov or @Dilnoza1983. The video size must not exceed 30 megabytes. Videos will be posted on the pages of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism in social networks.

The results of the video contest will be announced at a solemn event scheduled for October 20, 2020 at 11:00 in the Assembly hall of the University. The winners will receive valuable gifts and certificates.

All students of the «Silk Road» International University of Tourism can take part in the competition.

“Silk Road” International University of Tourism announces contest on the following specialties for the basic doctorate (PhD) program for 2021

Documents of applicants for doctoral studies (PhD) are accepted from September 25 to October 15, 2020

To enter for the basic doctorate (PhD) program applicants should submit the following documents to the Research department of the University and have to fill online registration form through the web-site http://phd.mininnovation.uz/:

1. statement;
2. CV;
3. a copy of the work book, certified in accordance with the established procedure (for working candidates);
4. a copy of the Master’s degree or a diploma of higher education with transcripts;
5. list of published scientific works, as well as their copies;
6. Holders of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (a present copy of the relevant document);
7. a copy of passport;
8. 4 pieces of 3х4 photo;
9. the approximate theme of their dissertation and its abstract.

Applicants will be tested on specialty subject and foreign language (previously learned language) in exam. Applicants will not take an exam by foreign language if they have valid International Foreign Language Certificates: IELTS (minimum 5,5 on average), TOEFL (iBT) (minimum 87 score), CEFR (minimum B2).

The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs has primary leadership responsibilities for planning, implementing, and coordinating the educational programs of the University.

In assuming these responsibilities, the Vice Rector must work closely with Academic Deans, Head of Departments, other administrators, and members of the faculty. While the managerial functions related to curriculum and instruction rest with the Deans, the Vice Rector serves as a leader in long-term planning of educational programs, assuring quality of instruction, and furthering the strategic plan, the educational master plan, and the goals and objectives of the University.

The Vice Rector for Research provides important leadership in the areas of research, innovation and economic development by encouraging and supporting investigators; facilitating multidisciplinary projects; seeking out new sources of funding; ensuring ethical, informed and safe conduct of research, and serving as the leading person for the University research environment. The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development and The Federation of extreme and mountain tourism of Uzbekistan (FEMTU), in order to facilitate the execution of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from January 5, 2019 number DP-5611 "On additional measures to accelerate the development of tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan", as well as in the framework of the project "Caravan of stories", in the period from 5 to 13 September 2020 organized the Youth camp "Ecoland" in the camp site "Eagle Rock" in Akhangaran district, the State of Tashkent.

Amirova Shahzoda, a 2nd-year student of the direction "Guidance and Translation", also took an active part in this project. In particular, Shahzoda was awarded a Certificate in the competition of essays on projects of tourist routes to little-known historical and ethnographic sites of Uzbekistan. Amirova Shahzoda's essay was prepared in English and was highly appreciated by the jury. In addition to participating in the essay competition, the student of the “Silk Road” University took part in various sections, where she also won prizes and was awarded diplomas. So, Shakhzoda took an honorable second place in the "Sports Orienteering" section, as well as the first place in the "Sports tourism" section.

It is worth noting that the achievements of the student of the International University of Tourism "Silk Road" Amirova Shakhzoda especially impressed the Chairman of the Federation of Extreme and Mountain Tourism of Uzbekistan Kozlovsky L.Y., which is confirmed by an official letter of thanks addressed to the First Vice-rector of the "Silk Road" University prof. Eltazarov J.D.

Starting from the 2018/2019 academic year, foreign citizens are accepted for bachelor's degree in higher educational institutions outside the admission quotas by interview, without passing tests, - this is noted in the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev "On measures to improve the quality of education in higher educational institutions" (DP No. 3775 of 05.06.2018).

So, during the 90 minutes allotted for preparing for the answer, applicants had to make a small but capacious speech on a specific topic. Their excitements are quite understandable and justified, the answers were evaluated not only by the profile of the chosen specialty, but also by the level of English language proficiency.

As one of the applicants noted: "It’s prestigious to become a student of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism, it has excellent conditions for training foreign students, including high quality education, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, understanding from teachers, and in general all the kindness of the Uzbek people".

On September 10, 2020, the international University of tourism "Silk Road" held a training seminar on “Grading Policy and Assessment Criteria” (Regulations for the 2020/2021 academic year), organized by the Dean Of the faculty of Tourism Management S. Wroblewski and the head of the Department of General Professional and Special disciplines Ian Patterson.

The first Vice-rector, Prof. Eltazarov J., Head of Department of monitoring and the organization of educational process Nurov F., Head of Department ensure the quality of education Tukhtamyshov A., faculty and advisors took an active part in the educational and methodological seminar.

The main purpose of the training workshop was to explain and implement the assessment policy and criteria for students in all academic programs starting from the 2020-2021 academic year. The topic of credit-module training was also discussed. In this regard, a new approach to the preparation of educational and methodological complexes (Syllabuses) is required. At the seminar were discussed the procedure for preparing educational and methodological complexes, and their installation on an electronic educational platform.

It was also noted that assessment is a necessary tool for both teachers and students. Its main goal is effective learning, which includes five mandatory blocks: understanding the General concept of education and the main concepts in each subject, acquiring knowledge, mastering skills, the ability to build social relationships, make decisions and be responsible for them.

The participants of the seminar received answers to all their questions.
