International Education Forum-2021

On February 26, 2021 year, was held an “International Education Forum” at Inha University in Tashkent, dedicated to topical issues of introducing foreign experience into the educational process in Uzbekistan.

The forum was attended by heads of ministries and departments of our country, rectors of international and local universities, as well as the founder of the Research Support Center, advisor to the rector of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism - Ospanova Aliya.

Aliya Ospanova noted that the holding of this forum is a strategically important, relevant and necessary timely decision. In the concept of the President of July 11, 2019, RP-4391 "On measures to introduce new management principles into the system of higher and secondary specialized education" of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, the need for transformation in the higher education system, as well as the gradual transition of higher educational institutions to credit -modular system.

Today, the introduction of information technologies is an important conceptual point in order for the credit-modular system to start working, it is necessary to introduce new educational and technical methods for the convenience of each student.

It should be noted that the International Educational Forum was organized within the framework of the implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to introduce new management principles in higher and secondary specialized education" dated July 11, 2019 PD-5763.

On February 24, 2021 was held an online training seminar on the theme: "Learning and Teaching Uzbek Through Deep Approach" at the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism for the teaching staff of the Department of "Uzbek Language and Literature and Social Sciences". The coordinator of this project is PhD Dilnoza Khasilova from the English Language Center of the University of Wyoming (USA).

At the seminar, Dilnoza Khasilova shared her knowledge and experience in teaching the Uzbek language to citizens of foreign countries. Then, on the basis of a modular context dedicated to the customs, history, culture, and traditions of the Uzbek people, she presented the results of her methodological experience in popularizing the Uzbek language in the world, teaching foreign students the language based on the IAPI model created as a result of pedagogical research. She noted that it is possible to further increase their love for the Uzbek language with the help of such methods as attracting students to educational projects on topical topics, demonstrating the results of the project in various audio and video tutorials.

In addition, the “Friends of the Uzbek Language” club has been established at the University of Wyoming. The main goal of the club is to provide additional information about the language, culture and history of our country to all participants who want to learn Uzbek culture.

As a result of the seminar, were made specific proposals for the implementation of projects for the development of the Uzbek language in cooperation with the University of Wyoming.

In order to implement the Memorandum about the Relationship between the United States and Uzbekistan “On Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education and Academic Research”, signed in May 2018 in Washington and Presidential Decree No. 2909 of April 20, 2017 “On measures for the further development of the higher education system” and other educational regulations, a delegation from the US Embassy in Uzbekistan visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

During the visit, the head of representative office of American Councils for International Education William O’Roark and the coordinators Muzaffar Najimhodjaev and Malika Muidinova familiarized in detail with the main educational and scientific areas, as well as with a number of educational exchange programs. These programs are designed for both students and candidates for higher academic degrees, as well as for university teaching staff.

Mardonov Diyor, a second-year student of the group “Mantour-119” of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism, is working on a “Self-driving tourist electric car with Artificial Intelligence” project of his own invention.

It should be noted that this invention has no analogues in Uzbekistan yet. It is expected that this project will bring positive results for the sustainable development of tourism in our country.

“The most beautiful speech” contest

On February 16, this year, Alexis L. Sullivan, an Public Relations Adviser to the Ambassador at the Embassy of the United States of America in Uzbekistan, visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

During the visit, the parties discussed a number of issues related to the implementation of joint projects in the field of tourism. Thus, the Embassy expressed its readiness to organize partnership relations with various American universities and major world-class travel companies for the Silk Road University. During the visit, Alexis L. was introduced to the unique smart campus of the university.

The administration of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and the representative of the US Embassy in Uzbekistan came to a decision to intensify joint activities in the field of tourism and education.

On February 4th of this year, the first competition for the best presentations and public performances was held within the framework of PechaKucha. It is worth noting that more than 30 applicants took part in the competition, who presented their presentations according to the stated rules: 20 slides of 20 seconds each.

The competition was held in a competitive atmosphere, which once again proves the high level of training of the contestants. As the panel of judges noted, it was difficult to choose the best contestants.

Today, on February 11th, the winners of the first ever university competition for the best presentations and public performances within the framework of PechaKucha were awarded. The winners were awarded a tablet (for the 1st place), a smartphone (for the 2nd place) and wireless headphones (for the 3rd & 4th places).

It is planned to hold a number of such competitions, as the first contest proved that our university has an incredible base of talented and promising students.
