The delegation headed by the President of the Asian Paralympic Committee Majid Rashed visited the International University of Tourism "Silk Road".

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the university in the implementation of its plans in the field of tourism and sports.

During the visit, special attention was paid to the availability of created conditions for people with disabilities, the equipment of the university for practical classes in laboratories, sports and creative employment of students, a large literary base in the modern Library, where rare publications about the history, culture and heritage of Asia are collected.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Rashed highly appreciated the opportunities created for the university students and wished them further success not only in sports, but also in their studies.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Majid Rashed became the unanimously elected President of the APK for a second term, at the end of the 5th session of the General Assembly of the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC), held in Dubai, UAE, which was attended by more than 200 delegates.

On June 29 this year, Vice-President of the Republic of Turkey Fuat Oktay paid an official visit to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism, within the framework of the development of Uzbek-Turkish relations in the field of education and tourism.

The Turkish delegation headed by Vice-President Fuat Oktay met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan-Minister of Tourism and Sports, Rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism A. A. Abdukhakimov.

During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:

1. Creation of specialized schools: “School of culture and heritage of the Turkic countries” and “School of restoration of historical heritage” at the “Silk Road” University;

2. Focusing on Turkic studies: the revival of Turkic linguistics, art, ethno-cultural events, intangible cultural heritage;

3. Academic exchange of students and teachers;

5. Double degree program in the following areas: “Culture”, “Religion”, “Tourism”.

The importance of holding joint events to develop cooperation in the fields of culture, science, education, healthcare and sports was also noted.

In accordance with the mutual desire of the peoples of Turkey and Uzbekistan to develop educational cooperation as a basis for training highly qualified personnel for foreign economic relations of the two countries, having common priorities in the field of tourism development and scientific research, the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism has been maintaining close cooperation with higher educational institutions of the Republic of Turkey since 2018.

It should be noted that within the framework of the visit of Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay to Uzbekistan, the 6th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation and a business forum aimed at stimulating direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries and the formation of new industrial cooperation projects will be held.

On June 26, 2021 the famous travel blogger from AOE, creator of the Facebook page “Nas Daily” Nuseir Yassin visited The “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

During the guest lecture the blogger told about his traveling round the world and held a master class on creating popular videos on the Websites. Also students asked questions about modern content in social networks, as well as the subtleties of video blogging. In turn, Nuseir highly noted the transformation in the tourism sector in Uzbekistan focusing on the uniqueness of the Uzbek brand around the world.

On the initiative of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva on June 14-15 2021 for the first time was held a republican training-seminar at Ferghana State University on the topic: “The role of women in the implementation of the strategy for achieving gender equality”.

At the opening ceremony, representatives of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Committee on Religious Affairs, the Main Department for Crime Prevention, the Research Institute of Mahallas and Families, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies made presentations.

It was emphasized that the issues raised at this training seminar are currently aimed not only at the republican, but also at the national level. During the training seminar guests highlighted the activities of the “Bolajon” Innovation Center and the Gender Equality Research Center organized at the Ferghana State University. The event was attended by the adviser to the Rector of the International University of Tourism “Silk Road” on women's issues M. Abbasova. The issues of implementing the experience of Ferghana State University were analyzed in order to create conditions for women of the University on gender equality, providing them with the opportunity to engage in scientific activities, as well as creating new opportunities for female students with a family and young children. Abbasova M. noted that the introduction of this opportunity into the university's activities can be of great importance for achieving gender equality in the future.

The “Silk Road” International University of Tourism hosted a meeting of employees of the Main Department of Tourism and Sports of the region, the university management with the participation of specialists from JICA, UNICO International, IDCJ from Japan.

During the meeting, issues of organizing joint work with Japanese universities on training personnel in the field of tourism, involving Japanese professors and teachers in the educational process were discussed.

Following the meeting, the responsible employees of the Main Department provided information about the tourism potential of Samarkand, ongoing projects for the development of the industry, as well as future plans. Foreign experts expressed interest in further close cooperation with Samarkand in the field of tourism.

The world-famous world-class chef and gourmet Bahriddin Chustiy who became famous for cooking 7 tons of Uzbek pilaf, which was included in the Guinness Book of Records, has added author's books to the University Library.

It is worth noting that Bahriddin Chustiy is an experienced restaurateur, brand chef of luxury restaurants in Uzbekistan (“Aksu”, "Chustiy Chaykhana", “Oshxona.Uz”), Kazakhstan (“Zanjabil”) and Russia ("Babaychik","Lagmania"). For his outstanding achievements in cookin he was nicknamed the Uzbek Jamie Oliver, at the moment Chustiy is the most famous admirer and creator of the national cuisine. The nickname "Chustiy" means "originally from Chust" (a city in the Namangan region).

It is worth emphasizing that Bahriddin Chustiy is the favorite chef of many heads of state. For example, in August 2010, at the request of the mayor of the city, he prepared a treat for the President of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev (2008-2012).

The book " Non " is dedicated to the Uzbek bread-flatbread, the author of which is Bahriddin Chustiy. This book has a special place in the university library. The book reflects the specifics of bread preparation in different regions of Uzbekistan, with a large number of colorful photos, where recipes for more than 50 types of tortillas and 10 dishes are published, in the preparation of which the tortilla is used. The author of the book shares almost forgotten, as well as popular recipes and new inventions of bakers (novvoi). In addition to recipes, Bahriddin Chustiy talks about the culture, traditions, tandoor, chekich and everything related to flatbread.

"Uzbek dastarkhan can exist without pilaf, and pilaf can be without meat, but no dastarkhan can be without flatbread. Tortilla is not just bread, it is a tradition, a culture, an intangible heritage and our history. The book is almost ready for printing, but given the circumstances, we hope to publish it in May-June this year, " said Bahriddin Chustiy.

The so-called "travel book" about the Uzbek regional cuisine "365 days of the sun", includes 86 positions of national dishes, more than 30 exclusive author's and historical recipes from more than 50 chefs from all over Uzbekistan. The book was published in two languages: Russian and English. The Russian version was presented in Tashkent, and the English version was presented in London. It is noteworthy that the Royal Court was impressed by the contents of the book and one copy was presented to Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.

This collection of books will help students of the university to make a gastronomic journey through Uzbekistan, as well as to study and get acquainted with the atmosphere and specifics of national dishes of various regions of our Homeland.

 Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Public Fund for the Support and Development of National Mass Media Komil Ismailovich Allamzhonov has added a large number of historical and rare books to the University Library.

  A rich collection of books about the Great Silk Road, the Empire of the Turks, as well as the history and myths of the Turkic-Mongolian states, in turn, took pride of place on the shelves of the Library.

For reference: K. Allamzhonov is a graduate of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent State University of Economics, in 2005-2009 he was the acting head of the information service of the State Tax Committee, in 2009-2013 - the head of the information service the press secretary of the chairman of the State Tax Committee. Founder of “Avtotest” driving school, “Soliq” Info newspaper, mass media accounting automation program, and other projects.

  The main goal of the public fund for the support and development of national mass media is to further develop the media, promote the rights of journalists and bloggers, strengthen the role of public institutions in strengthening freedom of speech in the country, promote further improvement of the international image of Uzbekistan, and others.

Mr. Michel Noblet, world-class expert, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of ATECA Holding, AHLEI (American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute), author of numerous books in the field of hotel business, visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism as an honorary guest.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for the development of the hotel business in Uzbekistan. The issues of internship of the best students of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism in the leading hotels of Uzbekistan (within the framework of the concept of dual training) were discussed in detail. Attention was also paid to the creation of a joint training academy, practical courses for university students. Another feature of the meeting was the presentation by Michel Noblet of his latest book “From Saint Gaudens to Samarkand – A Hotelier’s Tale of Success”, which he gave to the University Library.

In addition, agreements were reached on further building up contacts in order to successfully implement the planned projects and initiatives in the education system, as well as in the hotel business.

The final program of Mr. Noblet’s visit was a guest lecture for students and staff of the University.
