TEA CEREMONY PERFORMED ON THE SILK ROAD

Tea ceremony, Sadoo, is a comprehensive, artistic culture of Japan. Through the ceremony, the guests learn the attention and care given to the choice of sweets, tea cups and the setting for them, and appreciate the hospitality of the host.

Japanese students who are staying in Samarkand made it possible to bring this traditional art of Japan to Uzbekistan. Recently, a tea ceremony was performed as an event of the Japanese club at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The participants enjoyed the taste and colour of Japanese green tea (learned how GREEN they are). The event provided an opportunity for the participants to learn Japanese culture as well as to meet new friends.

Also, the Yukata (Kimono for summer) corner made for women made a great impression on the participants. It is planned to prepare a similar corner for boys next year.
