On April 23, 2022, students of school №100 of the Urgut district visited the “Silk Road” University. The guests were provided with information about the activities of the university, its traditions, values and teaching staff.
They visited a unique training practical complex, which includes hotel rooms, a bar-restaurant; a conference hall equipped with advanced technologies, a university canteen designed in the style of a cafeteria, a universal sports hall, a library and a swimming pool.
On April 21-22 this year, the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage hosted a student scientific and practical conference “Prospects for the development of tourism in the context of formation of Third Renaissance”.
On the first day, the participants of the conference, in the format of debates, analyzed the tourism potential and development factors of four regions: Africa, East Asia, Central Asia, South Asia.
On the second day, the participants of the conference discussed ways to solve the main problems in the field of tourism, the application of the experience of advanced tourism specialists in Uzbekistan. The result of heated discussions was the writing of an official letter with a resolution.
The event was held within the walls of the Silk Road University, in a warm and friendly atmosphere, in an atmosphere of healthy competition and rivalry. The speakers demonstrated a high level of training, answered all the questions asked, confirmed the independence of their work, and also convincingly proved their relevance and scientific novelty.

At an extraordinary meeting of the Department of Languages of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, independent researchers of the department prepared preliminary reports on the results of dissertations. Following the results of this meeting, with the participation of the First Vice-rector of the University - Professor J.D.Eltazarov, head of the Scientific Department of the University - PhD N. Mansurova, Head of the “Languages” Department, Ph.D., acting Associate Professor – T.I.Sultanov and the faculty of the “Languages” Department, independent researchers Akramova T.K. (“Ideological and artistic images of the works of Edgar Allan Poe and ways of recreating them in translation” – orig. “Идейно – художественные образы произведений Эдгара Аллана По и способы их воссоздания в переводе”), Abduvakhobova U.M. (“Pragmo-stylistic means of describing human values in the original and translations of the works of Herbert Bates” – orig. “Прагмо-стилистические средства описания человеческих ценностей в оригинале и переводах произведений Герберта Бейтса”) and Ablakulova I.K. (“The expression of nationalism in the translation of Uzbek novels of the XX century into English” – orig. “XX asr o‘zbek romanlarining ingliz tiliga tarjimasida milliylikning ifodalanishi”) are recommended to take an exam for a PhD degree (Doctor of Philosophy in Philology) in the specialty 10.00.06 – “Comparative Literary Studies, Comparative Linguistics and Translation Studies”.
For the sake of transparency of the elections to the President of the Student Parliament of the University, debates were held, which allowed all students there to get to know each candidate better.
So, on April 22 at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage held a face-to-face round of debates among candidates for the President of the Student Parliament. In total, the election commission of the university registered 4 candidates for the post of President.
It should be noted that these were not entirely classical debates, but rather meetings at which the candidates told about themselves, introduced their program to the public and discussed student problems. Thanks to this format, candidates feel responsible to the voters, who, in turn, learn about the candidates’ plans. The idea of holding a debate is aimed at making students firmly decide who to vote for.
Debates will help not only to master important skills – argumentation, critical thinking, rhetorical techniques, but also to set strategy priorities during the presidency of the Student Parliament.
In order to implement the tasks of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to ensure the employment of students of higher educational institutions, on April 22 this year, at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage was organized a “Career-2022” job fair.
The purpose of this event is to provide employment with qualified personnel, as well as to widely involve employers in presenting vacant jobs available to them, and potential employees in finding work acceptable to them, including through direct contact with employers.
This fair was attended by representatives of the restaurant and hotel business, STC (Samarkand Tourist Center), travel agencies, passenger service operator in the new terminal of Samarkand International Airport and ground handling of airlines - "Air Marakanda" and other employers.
In accordance with the Resolution No. 710 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2020 “On measures to prepare and conduct a population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023”, a census of the population of the republic is planned to hold in 2023.
The last time such a large-scale event was held in our country more than 30 years ago, as a result of which, today, a number of difficulties arise in studying the real life of the population and providing them with practical assistance.
On June 10, 2015, the UN adopted a resolution “Principles and recommendations for the 2020 population and housing census”. It provides that UN member states conduct a population and housing census at least once every 10 years. To date, preparations for this process have begun in the CIS countries, including Uzbekistan.
On April 20, 2022, a 3rd-year student of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Mardonov Dier received a patent for his own invention of an "Unmanned tourist electric vehicle with artificial intelligence".
For the development of the Mardanov Dier project, a Memorandum was signed between the university and the student, providing partial financing of the electric vehicle project by the university.

Earlier we reported that within the framework of the university competition "The Best Startup", Mardonov Dier and Boybekov Kamron were awarded certificates with monetary equivalents that will help improve the electric vehicle project.
On April 21 this year, in the Assembly Hall of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage has started a two-day scientific and practical conference on the topic: “Prospects for the development of tourism in the conditions of the Third Renaissance”.
The organizers of the scientific and practical conference are the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, Samarkand State University named after Sharaf Rashidov.
The conference will discuss the following issues:
1. Theoretical and methodological problems of tourism and strategic ways of solving them in the context of the formation of the Third Renaissance.
2. Mechanisms for improving the efficiency of the tourism industry in the context of the formation of the Third Renaissance.
3. Problems of improving the training of competitive personnel to improve the efficiency of the tourism industry in the context of the formation of the Third Renaissance.
4. The importance of museums and cultural heritage in the context of the formation of the Third Renaissance.
5. The role of multilingualism in the development of the tourism industry in the context of the formation of the Third Renaissance.
On April 21 this year, with the joint efforts of the Samarkand Regional Council of the “Milliy Tiklanish” Democratic Party, the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, within the framework of the “Month of Tourism Promotion and Development”, an event was held aimed at fulfilling tasks defined by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for the further development of domestic and pilgrimage tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
