On July 24 this year, participants of the VI International Congress of the World Society “Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan – the basis of a New Renaissance” visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

As part of the three-day program, the guests visited the “Silk Road” University, which plays a huge role in the development and preservation of cultural heritage.

During the study tour, more than 300 participants of this Congress got acquainted with the activities of the university, they were provided with detailed information on the results of cooperation with international universities and tourism organizations. The participants also visited the training and production complex, which includes hotel rooms, a bar-restaurant, a conference hall, a university canteen, made in the style of a cafeteria. The guests got acquainted with the unique historical elements of the Great Silk Road installed in the galleries, and also visited the university's sports hall, where masters of art from a number of SCO countries are currently working.

The guests were especially impressed by the University Library, which contains an impressive collection of unique books dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage. Through the efforts of the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Rector of the “Silk Road” University Aziz Abdukhakimov, about 20 thousand books were delivered to the library in the shortest possible time in such areas as tourism, art, history, archeology, ethnology, geopolitics, economics, cultural studies, religious studies, painting, sculpture, architecture, cultural heritage published in all corners of the world.

It is worth noting that from July 22 to 24, the International Scientific Conference on theme “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the Focus of Modern Science” was held at the Palace of Youth Creativity. The event was held by the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, over 10 international and 5 national organizations.

The future belongs to the youth!

In the 2021-2022 academic year, she worked as the head of the department of planning and development of educational work of our university, at the same time as the coordinator of the master's program in the field of museology and the leading expert of the master's department. Nilufar Khasanova, who gained reputation among the community due to her sincerity, received a full scholarship (Full Scholarship) and a teaching assistant (teaching) from the University of Montana in the United States in the field of archeology and cultural heritage -assistantship), her activity at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage came to an end today. First Vice-Rector of the University prof. J.D. Eltazarov presented her with a certificate of employment.

In the near future, our colleague will leave for the USA. We wish success and luck to Nilufar Khasanova, who is entering a new and responsible stage of her life, on behalf of the administration of our university and the team of professors and teachers. We believe that she will return to our university as a tourism expert in the near future.

Masters of art from Russia, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, as part of a 2-week tour of Samarkand, visited the “Silk Road” University.

The guests of honor were accompanied by the First Vice-Rector J. Eltazarov. During the introductory tour, the guests were introduced to the unique smart campus and the university's innovative library. The guests were impressed by the management model and advanced technologies used in the learning process, as well as the unique historical elements of the Great Silk Road installed at the galleries and the University Library.

The guests were especially impressed by the collection of unique books on art from the personal library of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Rector of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov.

It is worth noting that within two weeks the art masters will create in specially prepared studios of the university. On their canvases, the artists intend to depict the originality of the culture and traditions of Samarkand.

Subsequently, these works will decorate the gallery of the university. The action is held within the framework of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the SCO. We remind you that the next SCO summit in 2022 will be held in the city of Samarkand.

On the agenda of the Senate meeting, the most important issues related to the educational process, scientific activities, as well as improving the position of the University in international rankings were put forward. The meeting was attended by vice-rectors, heads of departments, dean of the faculty, representatives of the university administration, as well as the head of the department for training and promoting the development of science in the field of tourism and cultural heritage of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage A. Eshtaev.

The main purpose of the meeting was to sum up the results of the 2021-2022 academic year.

Thus, the meeting was opened by the report of the First Vice-Rector J. Eltazarov on the tasks performed in the 2021-2022 academic year. Then J. Eltazarov announced the results of the past Senate and congratulated his colleagues on the successful completion of the academic year.

Aziz Abdukhakimov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, held an official discussion with representatives of “WizzAir Abu Dhabi” (UAE). At the round table of negotiations, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of international relations between Uzbek airlines and the “WizzAir Abu Dhabi” air harbor network, the opening of new air corridors between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UAE. The only specialized “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Central Asia has graduated the first bachelors.

On July 6 this year, a solemn and significant event was held at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. Since its founding in 2018, the university has produced its first bachelors.

The solemn ceremony was opened with the national anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Aziz Abdukhakimov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, congratulated the graduates on their graduation and wished them professional growth and success in their future careers. In addition, congratulatory speeches were made by the Governor (khakim) of Samarkand region – Erkinjon Turdimov, as well as the First vice-rector – Juliboy Eltazarov and Vice-rector for academic affairs Joseph Hoffmann.

Diplomas to the newly minted bachelors were solemnly presented by the Rector of the University Aziz Abdukhakimov. 109 bachelor graduates who studied at the Faculty of Tourism Management in such areas as Designing in the field of tourism, Hotel business, Management of mass events, Logistics in the field of tourism, Tourism (by field of activity), Marketing in the field of tourism received their long-awaited diplomas.

In addition, diplomas were awarded to 23 masters of the faculty of Tourism Management and 5 bachelors who studied in the second specialty in the part-time form in the direction of “Tourism” (by field of activity).

During the event, graduates and their parents expressed their gratitude to the teachers, heads of graduation projects and the administration of the University, noting the high demand for tourism in Uzbekistan, the importance of dual education in the learning process and an individual approach to each student.

The rapid chess tournament, held on July 2-3 this year, was organized jointly by the “Sky Chess” school, the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The competitions were held within the walls of the “Silk Road” University.

The total prize fund of the tournament was 10,000,000 UZS. Students of Sky Chess branches in the cities of Tashkent, Karshi and Samarkand competed in the tournament.

It should be noted that one of the goals of the tournament was the development of domestic tourism among children and teenagers, so chess players got an excellent opportunity to plunge into the world of ancient Samarkand.

The solemn closing ceremony took place on July 3. Solemn speeches were made by the Deputy Ministers of Tourism and Cultural Heritage – N. Zikrillaev and A. Eshtaev, who noted the importance of holding such tournaments among the younger generation for its comprehensive development. In addition, as the Deputy Minister for the Development of Education and Science in the Spheres of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Alisher Eshtaev noted, the young chess players who took part in the tournament show a special interest in the university and are going to enter the “Silk Road” University in the future, after graduation.

It is worth noting that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to adopt amendments to the Constitution through a referendum.

“At the suggestion of the Commission, I propose to consider the draft developed by the Parliament at a nationwide discussion and adopt it through a referendum,” – the President emphasized on June 20 at a meeting with members of the Commission on the formation of proposals for amending the Constitution.

The President stressed that the constitutional reform should be based on public opinion and the support of the people of Uzbekistan.
