Scientific Seminar

 Dissertations majoring in “Tourism and hotel activities” will be discussed at a Scientific Seminar at the Academic Council (№ DSc.33/01.02.2022.I.145.01) of  the“Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) on September 21, 2022, at 14:00, room “№ 108. Two prospective Ph.D students will be presenting: Juliboy ugli Oybek  from Samarkand State University with the topic “Improvement of the processes of providing the tourism sector with qualified personnel in the context of innovative development” and Amirov Akmal Merojovich from  Samarkand State University with the topic “Territorial characteristics and prospective directions of the development of agrotourism (as an example of Samarkand region)”.

University staff received certificates for their successful participation in Change Academy, one of the grandiose programs of the British Council. The five-month program invites participants from all over Uzbekistan to improve their pedagogical knowledge and become professionals in the field of project management. Lectures are conducted by experts from UK universities, such as Oxford University, Said Business School, etc.

The Change Academy is part of a wider British Council Going Global Partnerships Programmer which is run in Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Ministry of higher secondary and specialized Education (MHSSE) and delivered by the British Council and Advance-HE.

 The Change Academy is a programmer of intensive capacity building for Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) moving towards financial, academic and organizational autonomy focusing on Quality in Learning, Teaching and Graduate Outcomes. The Change Academy is for teams of up to eight people from all levels of seniority and both professional and academic services. The Change Academy programmer combines immersive input and learning sessions with work-based Change Projects, and other remote support and national showcasing events; professional networks and a virtual learning environment. You work with experts from the UK Higher Education support agency, from extensive networks of colleagues in UK HEIs and from different sectors in Uzbekistan.

We invite you to participate in the scientific and practical conference "Tourism Opportunities and Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan", which will be held on September 23, 2022 in the city of Samarkand, at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

The purpose of the conference is to share global achievements, academic knowledge, and experience. The conference is planned to be attended by leading local and foreign scientists in the leading field of the tourism economy.

Program directions:

  • Development trends and prospects of the tourism industry in Uzbekistan;

  • The role and importance of digitization in the field of tourism.

Articles and theses are accepted in Uzbek, Russian, English language

Format of the conference: hybrid (offline and online platform of the event).

Submission Rules

Works made according to the requirements as well as the mandatory completed application form (application 1) for participation must be sent to the e-mail of the organizing committee of the conference.

Articles and abstracts must be in the text editor Microsoft Word for Windows - the author's name must be written at the beginning, for example: "Azizov.tezis.doc". The subject of the letter is "Conference".

All work will be checked for plagiarism. Submitted materials will be rejected by the Editorial Board if the formatting requirements are not met.

Language of the conference: Uzbek, Russian, and English

The best five articles submitted to this scientific and practical conference will be printed free of charge in the journal "The Journal of Silk Road Tourism Studies" of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

Requirements for the design of the texts of articles:

  • the texts of reports should be written and edited in Times New Roman, size 14, line spacing one and a half, 5-10 pages;
  • above the topic of the reports, the full name, surname, patronymic of the author, position, academic degree and title, place of work, phone number and e-mail address should be indicated;
  • after the topic, full abstract, keywords in three languages (Uzbek, Russian, English), and content must be written;
  • at the end of the report, proposals and recommendations of particular scientific, theoretical and practical importance should be given;
  • page margins for placing text: top - 2.5 cm, bottom - 2.5 cm, right - 2.5 cm, left - 2.5 cm.;
  • the articles should be provided in 1 copy on paper and in electronic form in Microsoft Word 2007, 2003 format;

- in the article, theoretical issues related to the topic should be covered along with their practical solutions.

The cost of publication: 15,000 soums for each page of the article are set to cover the expenses related to the organization of the conference and the publication of the collection.

Deadline: articles will be accepted and published until September 23, 2022.

Scientific Seminar

On September 16 of this year, within the framework of the SCO summit, the Indian delegation visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the university, and also handed over more than 200 books about India from the Prime Minister of India to the university library, covering various aspects of the country, such as politics, economy, tourism, culture, history, architecture and other areas.

It should be noted that this transfer of books serves as a vivid example of the development of cultural diplomacy, and also makes a huge contribution to strengthening Uzbek-Indian relations in the field of education and tourism.

At the moment, the university library has a unique collection of books for the preservation of cultural heritage.

Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Rector of the Silk Road University Aziz Abdukhakimov, about 20 thousand books in such areas as tourism, art, history, archeology, ethnology, geopolitics, economics, cultural studies, religious studies, painting, sculpture, architecture, cultural heritage, were delivered to the library in the shortest possible time. Also, the university library has more than 100 thousand books in electronic format.

The coordinator of the grant is Professor Kamol Mustaev.

The “Student Drama Theater” will be the only one in the Samarkand region that will show performances only in English. The project gives students the opportunity to study American (theatrical) art, acting, communicate, perform in public, master the skills of fluent speech, perfectly study and develop English. Thus, the harmonization of interethnic relations among young people serves to strengthen the culture of friendship, mutual solidarity, humanism and tolerance in society. 25 students will participate in the project as supervisors, and more than 1,000 students will become project participants.

The main goal of the project:

  • First, students should develop and improve their English;
  • Secondly, to study the cultural heritage of the USA;
  • Thirdly, the assimilation of various communication styles;
  • Fourth, to study literary heroes;
  • Fifth-to use body language.
  • Sixth, to study postmodern American drama.

Through this grant, such lofty goals will be achieved as strengthening the feeling of a multinational large family in society, further strengthening friendship and harmony between representatives of various nationalities living in the republic, educating the younger generation in the spirit of love and devotion to the Motherland.
