On August 3 of this year, a practical seminar on the development of "Silk Road" culture and tourism and increasing the opportunities for cultural and tourism research in the countries of Central Asia began its work. In this seminar, together with professors and teachers of "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the regional branch of the committee in Samarkand region The delegation of Uzbekistan, consisting of representatives, also took part. At the opening of the international scientific seminar, Prof. Zheng Chenjin, vice-president of Beijing International Education University, Changyuning, secretary of the CPC committee of this university, Cui Yinglan, representative of the Bureau of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC, Jahangir Matkarimov, responsible officer of the Tourism Committee, and The Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the People's Republic of China Bobur Yakhyoyev and others gave speeches. Also, in the afternoon today, at a seminar attended by professors and teachers of our university, Zhang Runsheng, Vice President of the Chinese Travel and Tourism Press, and Yang Xinlar, General Manager of the Tourism Education Press Committee, spoke about "Silk Road" tourism and cultural heritage. A number of books on the tourism industry were donated to the library of the International University. The participants of the international scientific seminar visited the Institute of Economy and Trade of the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization and got to know the activities of the university.

Today, on 1 August, entrance exams to higher education institutions for the 2023-2024 academic year began for bachelor’s degree. A group of faculty members of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage conducted sociological surveys in Samarkand, where the testing took place, to study the “social mood of the parents of the applicants”.

“My daughter Mehruza Kholikulova is also taking part in today’s entrance exams. The organisation of the testing process and the conditions created for us parents are commendable,” said Orifjon Gurbanov, who came from Shakhrisabz District, Kashkadarya Region.
