About the Technical Schools Affiliated with the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage

According to the Resolution No. PQ-5270 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 30, 2021, "On further improving the continuous system of training qualified personnel in the fields of tourism, cultural heritage, and museology", 6 technical schools and 4 colleges have been incorporated into the organizational structure of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

In accordance with Presidential Decree No. PF-158 dated October 16, 2024, “On measures to further improve the system of training qualified personnel in vocational education and implement international educational programs”, the vocational education system in Uzbekistan has been fundamentally reformed. A unified network of technicums was established, and all vocational education institutions were transformed into technicums. From now on, these technicums will offer primary, secondary, and specialized secondary vocational education programs in line with the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) and the requirements of Uzbekistan’s National Qualifications Framework.

 About the Activities of the Professional Education Department

As a structural unit of the university, the department provides educational and methodological support to the technical schools affiliated with the university. It also works to improve the quality of education and strengthen their material and technical base.

The department carries out its activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education", the National Program for Personnel Training, resolutions of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decrees, decisions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It also adheres to the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the orders and lawful instructions of the university rector, and the Regulation on the Department.

The department regularly submits information on the work carried out, existing issues, and shortcomings to the university rector and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

Main Tasks of the Department:

  • To assist in the training of highly demanded specialists in the fields of tourism, service, and related industries, specialists who possess systematic thinking, are proficient in modern information and communication technologies, and have foreign language skills through coordination of the activities of the technicums affiliated with the university;

  • To monitor the quality of education, develop recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the educational process in technicums, and oversee their implementation;

  • To support the effective organization of student internships and help strengthen their professional skills by directing them to relevant enterprises and organizations in the field;

  • To provide methodological support for the professional development of pedagogical staff at technicums, including organizing seminars, trainings, and experience-sharing programs;

  • To offer methodological assistance in improving the system and content of professional training in line with the needs of society, science, culture, and achievements in innovative technologies;

To assist in the development of the necessary material-technical and educational-methodological base for the effective organization of the educational process, as well as in involving experienced practitioners in the teaching process.
