On June 4, 2025, a Department of Uzbek Studies was inaugurated at Yschool University, one of France's prestigious higher education institutions, through the initiative of the ''Silk Road'' International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
In accordance with Presidential Decree No. PQ-19 dated January 12, 2024, titled “On additional measures to increase the flow of tourists and further enhance the international image of our country through promoting the study of Uzbekistan’s history and culture, Uzbek language and literature abroad,” the Department of Uzbek Studies was established at Yschool University, located in the city of Troyes, France.
The opening ceremony was attended by Akmaljon Odilov, Head of the Tourism Department, and Alijon Suyunov, a faculty member. The event was warmly welcomed by the university's leadership and students. During the ceremony, detailed information was provided about the department's main directions. In conclusion, the parties expressed hope that the department would play an important role in widely promoting the history and culture of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek language, and literature in France.
The Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage presented the department with books and albums related to the history and culture of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek language and literature, tourism, and cultural heritage, as well as samples of Uzbek folk applied arts and portraits of prominent figures who contributed to the development of Uzbek culture, literature, and education.
