The opening ceremony of the training course “Silk Road Archaeology, Science and Technology, and Cultural Heritage Protection” was held at Termez State University. This course was organized by Northwest University, Termez State University, and the Termez Archaeological Museum.
The opening ceremony took place on March 23, 2026, at Termez State University. At the event, the university’s vice-rector, Prof. T. Zou, delivered a lecture on the topic “Historical evolution of heritage tourism and future trends.” In his speech, Professor Zou touched upon the stages of development of cultural heritage tourism, current pressing issues, and future prospects.
At the ceremony, the rector of Termez State University, Prof. A. Toshqulov, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, researcher A. Asqarov, director of the Joint Research Center for Silk Road Archaeology, Prof. V. Jianxin, dean of the Faculty of Cultural Heritage of Northwest University, Prof. Ma Jian, and director of the Institute of Anthropology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, researcher F. Maqsudov delivered speeches.
Participants from the Institute of Anthropology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road”, the National University of Uzbekistan, and 9 other higher educational institutions took part in the event.
