On July 13, 2026, a meeting was held at the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road” with a delegation from Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) of the People's Republic of China.

At the meeting with the University Rector, the SISU delegation was headed by Professor Yin Dongmei, Chair of the University Council. The delegation included leaders and specialists responsible for global governance and area studies, the activities of the Confucius Institute, Central Asian languages, and international cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation between the two universities, particularly in the fields of cultural heritage preservation and research, cultural tourism development, joint academic studies, and the expansion of institutional and scholarly ties.

The participants also exchanged views on promoting academic knowledge and expertise sharing, strengthening cultural and humanitarian relations between Uzbekistan and China, and fostering dialogue between the civilizations of the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing mutually beneficial cooperation and developing promising joint initiatives.
