From April 4 to 5, the Samarkand Climate Forum was held in Samarkand National Congress Center. Professor Zou Tongqian, Vice Rector of our university, was invited to deliver a speech on the theme of "Scientific methods and innovative solutions to climate change: global challenges and local strategies" at the fourth plenary session. Professor Zou Tongqian's speech was entitled "Industrial Substitution to Achieve Ecological Restoration of the Aral Sea under Climate Change". He reviewed the literature on the Aral Sea since 1994 and summarized the mainstream conclusions on climate change trends and their impact on the ecological evolution of the Aral Sea. Based on VosViewer, DeepSeek analysis and field investigations, Professor Zou proposed replacing traditional water-consuming agricultural industries such as cotton planting with water-saving, ecologically adaptable and economically viable industries such as eco-agriculture, tourism, cultural creativity, health and wellness, photovoltaics, and natural gas extraction. This innovative solution to climate change aroused great interest among the audience. The keynote speakers of this plenary session included Nobel Prize winners, experts from the United Nations and international organizations, university presidents and professors, corporate managers, and leaders of non-governmental organizations.
