“Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage announces a competitive selection for the position of Head of Department.

Position: Head of Department

Work experience: At least 5 years of experience in teaching activities and management positions in the field of higher education.

Specialization: International Relations, Philology and Language Teaching, Foreign Language and Literature, Theory and Practice of Translation, or Linguistics (candidates who graduated from higher education institutions included in the TOP-500 ranking will receive additional points).

Foreign language proficiency: English (valid IELTS 7.0 or national certificate of proficiency in a foreign language at level C1).

Computer literacy: Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), proficiency in HEMIS and LMS information systems, and practical skills in using modern information and communication technologies and artificial intelligence tools in educational, research, and management activities.

Qualification requirements for the position of Head of Department:

The Head of Department must hold a relevant academic degree and academic title;

Must have scientific articles published in journals indexed in the Scopus and/or Web of Science (WoS) international scientific databases, as well as in reputable international scientific journals;

Must have experience in preparing and publishing scientific articles, monographs, textbooks, teaching manuals, or scientific-methodological works in the relevant scientific field;

Must have sufficient experience in developing research areas in their field of specialization, identifying promising research topics, and implementing research projects;

Must have experience in participating in international and local research grants, research projects and competitions, as well as in developing and implementing grant projects;

Must have specific proposals and initiatives for developing the Department’s research activities, establishing scientific schools and research areas, increasing the quantity and quality of scientific publications, and expanding publication activity in international scientific databases;

Must be able to coordinate activities aimed at preparing the Department’s academic staff to obtain academic degrees and academic titles, as well as developing doctoral and independent researcher activities;

Must have a thorough knowledge of modern pedagogical technologies, teaching methodology, and advanced international experience in scientific and pedagogical activities;

Must have experience in establishing and developing scientific cooperation with foreign and domestic higher education institutions, research institutions, and international organizations;

Must have actively participated in international scientific conferences, symposia, seminars, and research projects, and be able to organize the participation of the Department’s academic staff in such events;

Must have practical skills in working with HEMIS and LMS (Learning Management System) information systems, managing the educational process using digital technologies, uploading educational materials to electronic platforms, administering assessment processes, monitoring student engagement, using distance learning technologies, and effectively applying modern artificial intelligence tools in educational, research, and management activities;
