From May 28 to 31 of this year, the “Train to the Aral Sea” youth environmental campaign is being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tourism Committee, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, “Uzbekistan Railways” JSC, and other relevant organizations.
The aim of the campaign is to raise public awareness—especially among young people—about the environmental problems in the Aral Sea region, to foster ecological consciousness, and to increase youth engagement in addressing these challenges.
As part of the campaign, more than 600 active and initiative-driven youth selected from across all regions of Uzbekistan will visit Nukus and Muynak districts.
Participants will have the opportunity to directly observe the scale of environmental issues and learn in detail about the ecological and socio-economic restoration efforts being carried out in the area.
