Nilufar Rakhimova, the Head of the Department of International Business and Creative Economy at our university and PhD in Economics, was invited by the National Center for Professional and Public Accreditation of the Russian Federation (Нацаккредцентр) to serve as a Chair of the Expert Commission for International Accreditation of Educational Programs at Vladivostok State University from October 28 to 30 of this year.
What is accreditation?
The term "accreditation" comes from the Latin word "accredo" (to trust) and is the process of formally confirming that the quality of services provided meets a certain standard.
International accreditation is the process of determining whether educational programs or higher education institutions meet international quality standards. Accreditation procedures are typically conducted to assess the compliance of educational programs with international and European quality standards.
What is the role of the expert commission?
The tasks of the expert commissions are:
- to review information obtained from the internal assessment and conduct an external assessment;
- to evaluate the quality and content of education in the educational organization in accordance with current educational standards (requirements), accreditation criteria, and educational programs, as well as the quality and effectiveness of the educational services provided;
- to make proposals for improving the quality of education and educational services, as well as to prepare a report on the results of the external assessment and submit it to the Accreditation Commission.
Based on the above, it should be noted that representatives of our university have served for several years on the expert committee for state accreditation of educational programs at higher education institutions in our republic, and Nilufar Aminovna Rakhimova is the first representative of our university to serve on the expert committee for international accreditation processes.
A striking example of our university's growing international appeal is the proposals by international accreditation agencies to include representatives of our university in international expert committees.
