On March 2, 2026, a seminar was held at our university with the participation of specialists in the fields of tourism and culture. The seminar featured Xuseynova Immi Ali qizi, Associate Professor at Baku Eurasian University, who delivered an online lecture on the topic “Prospects for the Development of Medical and Wellness Tourism in Azerbaijan.”
The main purpose of the lecture was to discuss current issues in the field of medical and wellness tourism, share international best practices, and deepen academic and professional dialogue.
The speaker provided an in-depth analysis of Azerbaijan’s resource potential in medical and wellness tourism, the current state of the sector, and its future development directions. In addition, opinions were expressed on the possibilities of applying this experience in Uzbekistan to further develop medical and wellness tourism.
The seminar was moderated by the Vice Rector of our university, Professor Tony Zou. The event was supported by UNESCO Chair “Sustainable Heritage Tourism along the Silk Road” and the academic journal Journal of Silk Road Tourism Studies.
