On May 7, 2026, a “Career Day” event was held at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage as part of “Thursday – Youth Day.”
A total of 424 graduating students from both full-time and part-time programs participated in the event. More than 35 prestigious enterprises, organizations, and travel companies operating in the fields of tourism and cultural heritage were invited.
Representatives of the Poverty Reduction and Employment Department, the Tourism Department, the Samarkand Regional Branch of the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity, the Samarkand branch of the Migration Agency, and the Regional Tourism Council also took part in the event.
During the “Career Day” event, the university rector, Muhsinjon Xolmuxamedov, emphasized that today’s graduates should become employers rather than job seekers. He also noted that students should graduate not only with a diploma, but also with excellent command of two foreign languages and with their own business project.
Importantly, the graduates presented their business projects in various foreign languages.
Throughout the event, company and organization representatives conducted interviews with graduates for vacant positions, and organizational measures were outlined to ensure future employment for nearly 190 graduates who had not yet secured jobs.
In addition, agreements were reached to finance startup projects presented by university students within the framework of the “Kelajak Qadami” (“Step Toward the Future”) program announced by the National Bank.
