On 5 August 2026, the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, in partnership with Princeton University, hosted an international academic seminar entitled "From the Sacred Khan to Sufi Sultan: Sovereignty in Post-Mongol Central Asia."

The seminar brought together representatives of some of the world's leading universities and research institutions. Professors and researchers from Princeton University, the University of Cambridge, Harvard University, The University of Texas at Austin, and Nazarbayev University participated in the event.

Following the seminar, the international guests toured the university campus and visited the Silk Road International Research Institute, where they explored opportunities for expanding academic cooperation and developing future joint research initiatives.
