On 16 November 2025, our university, in cooperation with Beijing International Studies University (BISU), successfully held the 8th “Belt and Road” Tourism Forum. This year’s forum was dedicated to the theme: “The Belt and Road Initiative: Heritage Preservation, Ecological Restoration, and Tourism Development.”
At the opening ceremony, the First Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs, Professor D. Nasimov, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of academic cooperation and knowledge exchange within the framework of the initiative. More than 200 participants from governmental bodies, the tourism industry, and higher education institutions of China and Uzbekistan took part in the event both online and offline.
Within the forum, our university’s academic staff and the Vice-Rector for Innovations and Research, Professor Tony Zou, delivered presentations on cultural heritage preservation and effective organization of small tourism businesses.
In addition, scholars from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Parks Administration of China, Xinjiang University, Tashkent State University of Economics, and Green University discussed innovative approaches to heritage preservation, ecological restoration, and tourism development within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
