In order to further promote the tourism potential of Samarkand region, and within the framework of implementing Resolution No. PQ-135 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 26, 2023 “On additional measures for the rapid development of the country's tourism potential and increasing the number of local and foreign tourists”, the “International Extreme Sports Tourism” festival was held on June 4, 2025, in a beautiful mountainous area located in the Oqboyro mahalla of Samarkand district.

The main purpose of the festival was to showcase the region’s natural beauty, extreme tourism opportunities, and tourism potential to the wider public. As part of the event, a press tour was organized with the participation of representatives of all media outlets and bloggers.

Professors, teachers, and students of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage also actively took part in the festival. During the press tour, Associate Professor of the Tourism Department, Feruz Zokhidov, gave an interview to media representatives about the tourism potential of Samarkand region.

The event received wide coverage on regional and national TV channels, as well as on social media platforms by bloggers. This festival not only contributed to strengthening the tourism brand of the region but also helped popularize extreme tourism.
