Today, on October 30, at Samarkand State University, the Fifth Uzbekistan–Japan Rectors’ Forum began its work with the participation of rectors, scholars, and specialists from prestigious higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Japan.
At the opening ceremony of the forum, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov; Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, Hiroshi Masuko; First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Sodiq Safoyev (participating online); the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan, Kenji Hirata; and the President of Nagoya University, Naoshi Sugiyama, took part and delivered speeches.
During the event, the participants emphasized the high achievements in scientific, educational, and innovation cooperation between the two countries, as well as the successful implementation of joint research projects and academic exchange programs.
This prestigious forum held in Samarkand serves to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two nations and to elevate mutual cooperation in the fields of science and education to a new level.
