On February 9, 2026, the fourth seminar for leaders in the fields of tourism and cultural heritage was held at our university. The seminar featured Ms. Yang Jie, former Project Director of China Youth Travel Service and a doctoral student at our university, as a guest speaker. She delivered a lecture entitled “Management and Operation of Theme Parks”, using the example of the Monkey King Theme Park in China.
Ms. Yang Jie presented the achievements attained in the strategic planning and management of a modern theme park located in the Huaguoshan Scenic Area in China. Her presentation covered such topics as theme selection, territorial planning, product mix, service compatibility, budget planning, and the design of operational processes. The lecture generated great interest among students and faculty members.
The speaker and participants also exchanged views on market development through the integration of culture and tourism, enhancement of cultural values, and the digitalization of the tourism industry.
The seminar was held under the leadership of the University Vice-Rector for science and innovation , Professor Tongqian Zou, and was supported by the UNESCO Chair “Sustainable Heritage Tourism along the Silk Roads” and the academic journal “Silk Road Tourism Research.”
