On January 28, 2025, at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, a presentation of the famous novel “Jasper Jones” by Australian writer Craig Silvey was held with the participation of students from groups TTE-125, TTE-225, and TTE-325, organized by professors and lecturers T. Akramova and N. Axrorova of the Department of translation and interpreting studies.
During the event, students presented stage performances based on selected important excerpts from the novel. Through these theatrical performances, the content of the novel and the social issues addressed in it—particularly problems related to racism, injustice, and human rights—were conveyed to the audience in a deep and impactful manner. Through their creative approaches, acting skills, and translation analyses, students sought to reveal the ideological essence of the work.
This presentation served not only to strengthen literary knowledge but also to help shape universal values such as tolerance, humanism, and interethnic harmony in the minds of young people. The event left a strong impression on the participants and once again demonstrated the important role of literature in the life of society.
