At the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, a special lecture for students was organized with the participation of Professor Andrea Zinzani from the prestigious University of Bologna.
During the lecture, detailed information was provided about the ancient cultural heritage sites of the Samarkand region, their historical significance, the results of archaeological research, as well as issues related to the preservation of these sites and the development of their tourism potential. In particular, special emphasis was placed on the importance of cultural heritage preservation, local community involvement, and international scientific cooperation using the example of the Kofirqal’a Archaeological Site archaeological monument.
In his lecture, Professor Andrea Zinzani also spoke about Samarkand’s role on the Silk Road, the region’s rich historical and cultural layers, and new directions in modern scientific research. During the lecture, students actively participated by asking questions and gained valuable information about international experience and academic research.
This lecture contributed to the development of international academic cooperation at the university, the expansion of students’ knowledge and worldview, and increasing interest in the study of cultural heritage.
