CURRICULUM UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES IN TOURISM, HOSPITALITY AND EVENTS
Starting from the Academic Year 2020/2021
General information

This new curriculum of Undergraduate Studies in Tourism, Hospitality and Events consists of 32 courses that will be taught over 8 semesters, plus 2 subjects included in semester 8 related to undertaking an industry practicum and a graduation project = 34 subjects over 4 years:
Year 1: 10 subjects
Year 2: 8 subjects
Year 3: 8 subjects
Year 4: 8 subjects.

Credit system
The undergraduate study takes four years to complete in full-time mode. All students must earn 240 ECTS credits. Upon successful completion of the study programme, students are awarded a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. The standard duration of the bachelor’s programme is eight semesters. During these semesters, students must attend both compulsory and elective courses.
Over the course of learning, students should have the opportunity to perform onsite-inspections, practical classes outside the university and submit practice-based projects, including a final diploma project to be defenced in front of the Exam Commission. 
Language of teaching
Classes are conducted in English, with the exception of Uzbek Studies and additional language courses (German, French, Chinese).
Student Practicum
In the 8th Semester students will undertake a practicum in a tourism agency or a hotel of their choice which should be linked to their major area of interest. Students will also be given the opportunity to travel overseas to undertake a practicum with a tourism agency, or to study at a ‘University Abroad’ (within the Academic Mobility Programme).
