Department of Quality Assurance - DQA
The main objective of the department is to contribute to improving the quality of education at the university. This goal is in line with the university's mission: to develop responsible graduates who are globally committed to serving the society and committed to integrity in their personal and professional lives.
Effective, transparent and open for further development system of quality assurance promotes improvement of quality of training and satisfaction of external and internal stakeholders: students, teachers, graduates, parents (guardians), employers, employees of "Silk Road" IUT.
"Silk Road" IUT is likely to become an innovative educational community and one of the best universities in Central Asia. Hence one of the main criteria of the university is the constant work to improve the process of teaching and learning, the main objectives of the department is to constantly measure the process of achieving the mission, strategic vision and educational goals of the university. It is necessary to determine the extent to which the volume, level, quality and results of education in a particular program meet the mission, educational goals and standards of the university.
By means of measurement and the analysis of the data on students, teachers and monitoring of process of training "Silk Road" IUT, the department actively participates in:
- Improved planning, quality assurance processes,
- to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning for the students of the world,
- managing documentation on the quality of education at the university.
The main directions of activity of the department: research of peculiarities of students' personality and their development, psychological support of students, expert and analytical work, support of program accreditation, support of research and methodological work.

One of the main criteria for the success of the university is its graduates, their progress in ethical and intellectual development. This progress should be measured using effective and valid tools.
The Department conducts research:
- the ethical and intellectual development of university students;
- cognitive styles, multiple mental abilities, the personality spectrum of every "Silk Road" IUT student.
After processing and analyzing the results, the department informs students, faculty, heads of programs and management of the university about general and individual research results (based on the principle of confidentiality), as well as identified problems for their subsequent resolution.
Based on the research, department staff:
- develop recommendations for improving teaching methods that take into account the individual cognitive abilities and aptitudes of students;
- provide advisory support to students by helping them structure their learning path so that teaching methods are relevant to their abilities and educational needs.;
- advise teachers on new teaching and assessment methods in accordance with the university mission and educational standards.
- Psychological support for students
- In order to maintain a comfortable psychological climate and timely identification of problems and the most effective solution, the university has a psychological service..
- The tasks of the psychological service:
- Psychological support sessions to better understand problems and address them more effectively.;
- advising teachers on adjusting teaching and assessment methods to suit the individual characteristics of students;
- Informing management about the psychological climate, based on the principle of confidentiality of information;
- assistance in adapting to the new team at the beginning of the academic year, in building interpersonal relationships between students;
- supporting students in stress and trauma situations, identifying psychosomatic conditions;
- working with students to set and achieve goals;
- professional orientation
Experimental and analytical work
Department staff:
- participate in the analysis of organizations' satisfaction with the quality of the educational process;
- participate in the analysis of organizations' satisfaction with the quality of the educational process;
- analyze the results of measurement and monitoring of processes taking place in the "Silk Road" IUT with the use of such tools as the questionnaire "Teacher through the eyes of a student", "Observation of classes through the eyes of colleagues" "Form of assessment of the class", etc..;
- provide research findings.
Facilitation of programme accreditation
Based on the accreditation guidelines, the department assists university management in the external evaluation of programs and the university as a whole, including its accreditation at the national and international levels.
This work involves :
- assistance in planning for the development and improvement of the quality assurance system;
- measurement of the compliance of the volume, level, quality and results of education in a particular program in accordance with the educational objectives and standards of the university;
- organization of professional development in the field of quality management, assistance in self-assessment of programs, as well as in preparing reports on their status and dynamics of development.
Support for research and methodological work
- together with the research committee of the university's research coordination.;
- participation in the organization and conduct of research and methodological conferences, seminars of teachers' and students' forums, as well as the publication of research results.
- In its work, the department is guided by the mission, statute, strategic documents of the university, as well as the regulations on the department and its work plan.
