Dear students of Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage!

During the winter break of the academic year 2024-2025, an Online Turkish Speaking Competition with Prizes will be held among the students of our university to determine the best Turkish speaker. The competition will take place online via the Zoom platform. In the competition, each student will give a 3-minute speech on a topic chosen by lottery. The members of the selection committee will evaluate the speeches according to predetermined criteria (word usage, grammar, pronunciation, etc.). At the end of the competition, the first, second and third placed students will receive a financial reward after the mid-term break.

 RULES:

• This is an unprepared Turkish speaking competition.
• The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students.
• The speaking time is 3 minutes. If the time is exceeded, the microphone will be switched off.
• No written, oral or visual materials may be used during the competition. No theatrical behaviour, animation, costumes, objects, etc. may be used. Students who do not comply with this rule will be disqualified from the competition and will not be entitled to any prizes.
• Each participant has the right to speak once.
• The members of the selection committee will evaluate the performances according to the criteria given (use of words, grammar, pronunciation, etc.).
• Prizes will be awarded to the first three winners.
• Students whose mother tongue is Turkish cannot participate in the competition.
