To apply for a Ph.D. program, candidates are required to submit the following documents:

  • Copy of the passport (pdf)
  • Brief biographical information (CV)
  • Diploma of higher education from the master's program, along with transcripts;
  • List of published scientific works, including their copies (pdf);
  • Two recommendation letters from two professors;
  • Research proposal.

A discussion session for applicants who have submitted documents for admission to the Ph.D. program at the "Silk Road" Tourism and Cultural Heritage International University has been scheduled as part of the entrance exams. Additional information about the exam date will be announced.

The teacher of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Turdieva Nargiza Mardonovna (PhD. acting assistant professor) published a monograph on the theme “Development of communication skills of students in the field of tourism through the use of project technologies”.

Communication skills are an integral part of the future specialist in tourism. This book reveals methods, ways of developing students’ communicative skills through the use of project technologies.  The monograph is of topical importance, as the integration of the components “Tourism and communicativeness” is an innovative approach that can bring qualitative transformations in teaching methodology.

The fight against drugs is an urgent issue

On November 13 of this year, a preventive meeting was held with students within the framework of the month “Combating the illegal circulation of narcotics, psychotropic and powerful drugs” with the participation of A.Matlubov, head of the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and R.Rakhmanov, head of the Samarkand Regional Internal Affairs Department at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. At the event, opinions were expressed on issues such as the prevention of such negative situations among young people, the strengthening of work on wide promotion of the negative consequences of drug addiction, psychotropic and powerful drugs in educational institutions.

At the preventive meeting, the experts gave the students information about the dangers of the world-shaking drug, and the students received answers to their questions.

“One Day on the Mountain” project held

On the initiative of the Samarkand Regional Council of Youth Union of Uzbekistan, “One Day on the Mountain” project was organized in the tourist village of Tersak in Urgut district. As part of the project, national games, competitions and a “Plov Championship” among youth leaders of higher educational institutions were organized. S.Khaydarov, a youth leader of the university, took the first place at the championship of plov.

On October 23-24 of this year, the head of the department of our university Kadirova Irina took part and presented a lecture at the international conference “The future of tourism in Asian countries: prospects and opportunities”, held at National University of Indonesia in Jakarta.

In her lecture, the head of the department of our university addressed to the fact that today the tourism industry in Uzbekistan is flourishing every day, and to the large-scale practical work carried out in education in this direction.

On November 9 of this year, pupils of the Specialized Professional School for Persons with Disabilities under the Department of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Samarkand Region visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. During the visit, the pupils familiarized with the gallery of national clothes of the Turkic world, as well as with the activities of the library and sports clubs.

During the visit, an agreement was reached on providing psychological, correctional and pedagogical assistance to pupils and practical help in organizing adaptation of pupils in the social sphere between the specialized professional school and the university for disabled pupils of Samarkand.

Scientific research department of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage announces project contest within the “Technoways” technological development marathon for students.

Projects are accepted for selection in 3 directions:

- practical projects,

- start-up projects,

- scientific projects.

Participants can participate in the competition as a team or individually.

3 places will be determined in each direction.

The authors of the projects that were found to be the best in the competition will be encouraged with money in the amount of 3 times of the BSA (basic stipend amount) for the 1st place, 2 times of the BSA for the 2nd place, and 1 times of the BSA for the 3rd place.

On November 15 at 14:30 in room 108 of the university will be held a seminar on “Improving the mechanism of management of sustainable tourism in the region (on the example of Samarkand region)”, which is organized by the basic doctoral student of Westminster International University Rakhimova Nilufar in Tashkent and “Department of Scientific Research” of our university on specialty 08.00.17-“Tourism and hotel activity” 08.00.13-“Management” in order to obtain a PhD degree.

Incentive in science leads to initiative

The Department of Scientific Research of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage determined 3 places according to the results of the competition “The Best Innovative Projects”. According to the results of the competition, the authors of the projects recognized as the best were awarded cash prizes and certificates in the amount of three times the amount of the “basic scholarship” for the 1st place, two times the amount for the 2nd place and one time the amount for the 3rd place.
