Today, on February 21, an "Enlightenment Lesson" dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Mahmudhoja Behbudi was organized in an unusual format at the house museum where Mahmudhoja Behbudi lived and worked, for the first-year students of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, group TTE-124. The "Enlightenment Lesson" began with a tour, and U. Otayorova, a teacher from the Department of "Languages and Global Studies," was invited to speak.

The teacher shared with the students the life and work of the great enlightener, publisher, and journalist.

The seminar will feature a guest speaker invited by Tongqian Zou, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, namely the Director of "Xinjing Chunqiu International Travel Service Co., LTD".

On February 21 of this year, under the slogan "National Values and Their Role in the Spirituality of the Nation," the week was declared as "Wearing National Clothing." 

To promote the wide adoption of our national attire among university professors, teachers, and students, participants came to the university dressed in garments made from traditional fabrics such as adras, atlas, and beqasam.

On February 21, graduates of the Specialized School under the President's School located in the Samarkand district had the opportunity to learn more about the activities of our university. The Head of the Admissions and Marketing Department gave them a detailed introduction to the opportunities available at the university. Most importantly, the graduates expressed an increased interest in our university and stated their intention to link their future with this institution.

On February 21, as part of the campaign "We, the Youth, Stand Against Drug Addiction!", the Student Union's primary organization council, with the initiative of our university, organized the "Zakovat" intellectual game to test and enhance the intellectual potential of university students. 

Participation in such intellectual games helps students expand their knowledge and demonstrates their quick thinking and teamwork abilities. 

At the end of the game, the following teams were awarded: 

1st place - Everest-324 

2nd place - Mastermind 

On February 20, 2025, the "Open Door Day" event was organized at the Bukhara Tourism and Cultural Heritage Technical School. The aim of the event was to effectively organize the admission process for the 2025/2026 academic year and to assist 9th to 11th-grade graduates of general education schools in choosing their future profession. More than 25 schools from Bukhara city participated in the event, with nearly a thousand graduating students taking part.

Teachers and specialists from the technical school provided detailed information to the students about the available programs, career development opportunities, and employment prospects after graduation. The event also introduced international cooperation projects and opportunities being implemented within the framework of these collaborations.

On February 19, 2025, the Scientific Research and Youth Engagement and Events Departments of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage organized a seminar for first-year undergraduate students on the requirements for the Republic of Uzbekistan President’s and other state scholarships, as well as on developing skills in writing scientific articles. The seminar was led by N. Khaliqov, a specialist from the Scientific Research Department, and P. Islomov, a tutor from the Academic Support Department, who provided students with information on how to select scientific article topics, write, and publish them. During the seminar, talented students from the university were also awarded certificates.

On February 20, 2025, a delegation led by representatives from SIRIM Academy Malaysia and JICA in Malaysia visited the "Silk Road" International university of tourism and Cultural Heritage

During the visit, a seminar on "Standards for Muslim-friendly tourism" was organized for the university's professors, students, and representatives of the tourism sector operating in Samarkand.

The seminar provided participants with detailed information about the activities of JICA and SIRIM, as well as their experiences in the tourism industry. Additionally, important recommendations and concepts for properly organizing the halal tourism certification system were presented.

GIZ delegates delivered speeches on Sustainable Tourism Development in Uzbekistan

On February 17, 2025, “Silk Road” International University of tourism and cultural heritage invited Delegates for GIZ to talk about sustainable tourism development in Uzbekistan. 

The seminar was moderated by Vice-Rector for science and innovation Tongqian Zou. Firstly, Ms Beatie Schoreit, the Head of Sustainable Project gave a brief introduction to the contributions of GIZ to the sustainable development of Uzbekistan. Then, Mr. Mels Kosnazarov, Director of NGO “Destination Management Organization of Karakalpakstan” delivered his speech titled: “DMO Karakalpakstan: Tourism Development through Destination Management”. He introduced the destination marketing activities for Karakalpakstan in recent years. Lastly, Mr. Ajiniyaz Seytakhov, the Law Specialist of NGO “Destination Management Organization of Karakalpakstan, delivered a speech titled:"The Role of Legal and Regulatory Acts in the Development of Tourism Infrastructure in Uzbekistan". Lawyer Seytakhov explained the evolution of legal and regulatory acts of tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan, and pointed out the future direction of development in Uzbekistan.

MA and PhD students of our university actively participated in the discussion about tourism marketing, infrastructure development in Uzbekistan.
