Today, on 21 October, in connection with the 35th anniversary of giving the Uzbek language the status of the state language, a spiritual and educational event dedicated to the celebration of the Uzbek language was held in the Central Park of Samarkand. A group of teachers and heads of departments of Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage took part in the event. During the celebratory event, Deputy Governor R. Kabilov and others made a presentation on the growing authority of the Uzbek language in the world.
Also at the event, poems from the works of Alisher Navoi were recited and songs were sung by artists. Flowers were laid at the Navoi monument and tribute was paid.
In a peaceful and tranquil land, festivities are taking place. Today 18 October is the day of the city of Samarkand. In this regard, Samarkand is covered with special freshness and beauty since early morning today. A festive mood reigns in Samarkand today. Folk festivities, concert programs and fairs have started in all regions of the city on the occasion of the holiday. Independence Square in Samarkand is also festively decorated, and all higher educational institutions, enterprises and organisations are actively participating in the event.
A team of teachers and staff of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage also made special preparations for this holiday. Local and international students of our university were active at the celebration event, performing their national songs and dances.

These days, sport competitions within the framework of the Five Initiatives and the Student League are being organised at Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The competitions organised in the sports hall on the university campus were intense for our students.
We are pleased to announce the launch of the (TOT) program on October 16, 2024 at the International Tourism Academy of Samarkand Campus under the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, in cooperation with the UN Tourism, organizing a 6-month training program for 20 trainers in the field of Hospitality Management aimed at improving their skills and knowledge.
This program is led by leading international hospitality experts and faculty members from Switzerland, UK, Australia, UAE and Georgia that enables participants to acquire the latest knowledge and skills in the industry.
Through seminars, webinars, and interactive sessions, trainers will have the opportunity to interact with leading tourism experts and faculty members of top universities, with whom share their experiences, and develop practical strategies to improve teaching and curriculum development.
“Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage announces the opening of competition for observers for the 97th International Korean Language Examination (TOPIK) to be held at the university on 10 November 2024. Those who wish to participate in the exam as an observer should apply for participation according to the following conditions:
1. Deadline for submission of the application form: 20 October 2024.
To apply for the examination, the application form should be filled in and scanned along with passport and sent by telegram to @silkroadtopic with signature.
2. Conditions for selection: if the number of applications exceeds the number of observers required for the examination, the following candidates will have precedence:
Experienced observers with experience as a subject exam supervisor for the last 3 years
Persons with experience as a foreign language exam observer for the last 3 years
Persons with work experience in an educational institution
3. Additional terms and conditions:
- Payment is made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
- Observers who successfully pass the exam will have the opportunity to participate in the following exams.

To protect and inherit the precious cultural heritage along the Silk Road, and to exchange and explore new concepts, methods, and technologies for cultural heritage protection and utilization, the "History · Art · Technology - International Symposium on the Protection and Utilization of Silk Road Cultural Heritage" was held in Samarkand Uzbekistan, from October 3 to October 6. The symposium was co-organized by the School of Cultural Heritage at Northwesr University of China, Silk Road Archaeological Cooperation Research Center, the China-Central Asia Joint Laboratory for Human and Environment on the Belt and Road (C-CHEL), the International Centre on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage (HIST) under UNESCO, the Xi’an International Conservation Center of ICOMOS (IICC-X), the Cultural Heritage Education Professional Committee of the China Cultural Relics Conservation Technology Association, the Dunhuang Academy, “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan, the Yakhyo Gulomov Institute of Archaeology under the Cultural Heritage Agency of Uzbekistan, the National Archaeological Center of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the National History Museum of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and Termez State University, and the Termez Archaeological Museum.
A total of 56 representatives from eight countries, including China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Russia, and France, attended the symposium. The opening ceremony was held at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand, hosted by Professor Zou Tongqian, Vice Rector of the university.
During the opening ceremony, Dilmurod Nasimov, First Vice Rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan, extended his welcome and gratitude to the scholars and guests from various countries. He emphasized that the symposium would significantly promote the cooperation and research on Silk Road cultural heritage among universities and academic institutions from different countries.
In his online speech, Sun Qingwei, President of Northwest University of China, noted that the university has achieved significant accomplishments in the fields of Silk Road archaeology and cultural heritage protection, including scientific research, personnel training, and platform creation."
At the symposium, Rustam Kobylov, Deputy Governor of Samarkand Region, Uzbekistan; Guo Huadong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wang Jianxin, Chief Scientist of the China Silk Road Archaeological Cooperation Research Center; Feng Jian, Executive Deputy Director of IICC-X; and Evren Rutbil, Director of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) under UNESCO, delivered online and offline speeches successively.
During the symposium, 30 experts and scholars exchanged speeches on topics such as "Concepts, Methods, and Practices of Silk Road Cultural Heritage Protection", "Research on Technologies for Protecting Silk Road Sites," and "Research on the Conservation and Restoration of Silk Road Artifacts."
In order to promote healthy lifestyles and increase interest in sports among students, “Five Initiatives” and “Student League” sports competitions are also held at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. As part of the competitions, the students of our university competed with each other in such a sport as volleyball.
On the occasion of 11 October, the “International Day of the Girl”, activities and competitions are held every year to attract attention to the social problems of girls around the world.
On the occasion of this date, on 14 October of this year, in cooperation with the Women's Council and the Department of Languages and Global Studies, an essay competition was held among students on the theme 2There is no place for violence in our society2 under the slogan “I am against violence”.

On 14 October of this year, Marat Akhmedjanov, Deputy Chairman of Silk Road Media Holding, visited our university. D. Nasimov, the first vice-rector for administrative affairs of our university, welcomed the guests.
Today this media holding actively participates in a number of projects in many countries of the world. During the dialogue there was an exchange of views on the possibilities to further enhance the international image of our university. Silk Road Media Group has been publishing OCA Magazine in English in London since 2009. The magazine popularises national cultures and is known for its coverage of events.
