JOB DESCRIPTION

The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs has primary leadership responsibilities for planning, implementing, and coordinating the educational programs of the University.

In assuming these responsibilities, the Vice Rector must work closely with Academic Deans, Head of Departments, other administrators, and members of the faculty. While the managerial functions related to curriculum and instruction rest with the Deans, the Vice Rector serves as a leader in long-term planning of educational programs, assuring quality of instruction, and furthering the strategic plan, the educational master plan, and the goals and objectives of the University.

The Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Commercialization

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Vice Rector for Research provides important leadership in the areas of research, innovation and economic development by encouraging and supporting investigators; facilitating multidisciplinary projects; seeking out new sources of funding; ensuring ethical, informed and safe conduct of research, and serving as the leading person for the University research environment. The Vice Rector oversees the following units: Office of Grants and Scholarships; Office of Research Services; Office of Postgraduate Studies; Post- Doctoral Affairs; Research Integrity; Research Resources Center.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• proficiency in English language;
• five years of senior administrative level leadership and experience in higher education;
• provides strong, dynamic academic and administrative leadership, fosters a collegial environment which encourages scholarship, teaching, and learning excellence;
• demonstrated commitment to academic quality and standards;
• demonstrated support for faculty and staff development;
• demonstrated skill in respectful, sensitive communication with people who are diverse in their cultures, languages and abilities;
• demonstrated sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic members.
