German specialist shared his plans

Christian Grosse, a member of the board of German Federal Union of Medium and Small Businesses, was an international observer at the early presidential elections. On 10 July of this year, he visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

At the same time, it should be noted that it is no secret that our country is developing co-operation in various fields with this state, which is considered not only a major continent, but also a leader in the whole world.

In particular, negotiations on various issues were held with Federal Union of Medium and Small Businesses of Germany. The German entrepreneurs have given a positive assessment of the Uzbek government’s actions to improve the investment climate, enhance the regulatory and legal framework, develop infrastructure, fight corruption, as well as expressed readiness to expand their activities in this Republic.

It can be said that the visit of Mr.Christian Grossen to the university was another step in this direction.

The first vice-rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Professor J. Eltazarov met the guest, who spoke in detail about what conditions are created for students at the university, what opportunities are available.

“A modern university that trains a specialist in tourism made a huge impression on me” said Christian Grosse, a board member of German Federal Association of Medium and Small Businesses. In a smart campus, the education of students plays an important role in their development as professionals.

I aim to develop mutual co-operation between the countries of Uzbekistan and Germany in the fields of tourism and education. In addition, I plan to write an analytical article about the university.

During the dialogue, the university administration showed its consent to close cooperation with the German specialist. An agreement was reached to provide close assistance in obtaining necessary information about the history, present and other aspects of life in our country.

On July 8 of this year, representatives of the delegation headed by Mr.Kong Wy Mun, Director General of Singapore State Cooperation Organization and Mrs. Daisy Boon, Head of Central Asian States visited the city of Samarkand, in particular “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. First Vice Rector of the university, Professor J.Eltazarov welcomed the guests and informed them in detail about conditions created for them and mature human resources trained at this international educational institution in the sphere of tourism.

Today, the results of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Singapore are clearly visible in the sphere of tourism. During the dialogue, guests exchanged views on issues pertinent to provision of advanced training facilities to professionals at “Silk Road” International Tourism and Cultural Heritage University, and practical assistance in training small professionals in tourism. Afterwards, representatives of the delegation took a close look at the gallery of national costumes of the Turkic world of the university, as well as the library.

On July 7 of this year, a group of photographers consisting of participants of the “Meeting of Turkic World Photographers” project visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and got acquainted with the educational, scientific and cultural life of the university. A library created in 2018 with educational facilities, national costumes of the Turkic World and documents on political and social relations found in the archives of the state of Osman, an exhibition of portrait paintings of the Turkic World and a collection of more than 20,000 books made a great impression on the guests.

“I heard a lot about “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and I am very happy that today I have the opportunity to come here and experience the activities of the university,” said Guler Fiday, a participant of the “Meeting of Turkic World Photographers” project.

Visitors will be able to see the sights of the city of Samarkand on 7-9 July and take photographs reflecting the views of our people’s lives today.

Ramziddin Ergashev, a fourth-year graduate of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, expressed his gratitude for the knowledge he gained during his years of study and for his teachers.

Words of gratitude!

I recall 2019, when we started studies at old campus, which belonged to the Tourism College. At that time, I was planning to give up my studies at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and go to Korea.

However, very radical reforms, implementation of a credit system, 5-day education, the innovative 2+1 system, involvement of foreign teachers, and numerous other opportunities encouraged me to stay and give it one more semester. Little did I know, that semester would turn into years and lead me to this day, graduation day.

Then we transitioned to new Smart Campus, and for the last four years, we have had great opportunities while paying the old tuition fee of about 7 million sum. Therefore, we are quite lucky, aren’t we?

I know my classmates may find it amusing to hear such compliments from me because, in the face of problems, I was often the first to criticize in our group. However, I must point out that there is no other university in Samarkand that would accept criticism and strive to enhance the satisfaction of its students as our university has done.

Believe me, such opportunities are not readily available in other universities in Samarkand. We are free from paperwork, the traditional “zachotka” or “konspekt”, and most importantly, our university is free from corruption – at least I have not faced any during my studies.

In 2019, as a first-year student, I had never been abroad, never participated in an international event. Yet, during my four years here, I have traveled to 8 countries, attended over 20 international events, won competitions and scholarships. This is only a snapshot of my journey, and I am sure that many of my course-mates have accomplished even more in various fields. I am confident that we will continue to scale new heights in the future.

So, I want to take a moment and express my gratitude to our rector, vice-rectors, and all the professors for their unwavering guidance and support. Special thanks to my favorite teachers Farukh Shukurov, Gulrukh Yusupova, Umida Abduvakhobova, Takhmina Akramova, Sabokhat Kurbanova, Mironshokh Uktamov and Elena Salnikova, and all of our professors who have taught us, mentored us, and stood by us.

Once again, thank you.
