About the results of the year on the example of Information and Resource Centre (library) of our university

     The fund of Information and Resource Centre of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage has 27202 copies of literature in the form of books named 13822.
     Out of them 4801 copies of literature in Uzbek language, 3680 copies in Russian language, 10 749 copies in English language and 5141 copies in other languages.
     24,371 copies of printed literature by form, 911 copies of electronic literature, 17 copies in Braille, 58 copies in audio, 1,039 copies of educational literature by collection, 1,814 copies of scientific literature, 1,793 copies of fiction, 1,354 copies of foreign literature and 371 copies of other literature. This literature shows that the university is fully provided with educational literature on language teaching in all educational directions and specialities.
     Last year, on the initiative and under the leadership of our honourable rector Aziz Abduhakimov, the library, which is the treasury of the university, received books in such areas as tourism, art, history, archaeology, ethnology, geopolitics, economics, culturology, religious studies, design, sculpture, architecture, and cultural heritage in a short period of time.
     On 6 March 2023, the new collection of books and journals was handed over to the library of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage by the Head of the Department for Cooperation with South Asia, Near and Middle East and Africa.

     On 12 March, a delegation of the Republic of Bulgaria handed over books on tourism and cultural heritage sector of Bulgaria to the library of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
     On 30 March, during a visit to the university by the Rector of the Tashkent State Law University, Islombek Rustambekov, he handed over his books on copyright and judicial law to the library.
     On 28 May, Mrs Zang Hongyan (Uzbekistan), chairman of Silk Road Publishing House, Beijing Silk Road Culture Development Co.Ltd (China) visited Silk Road University. The chairperson presented our university with several books on Silk Road culture published by Zang.
     On July 9, M. Baimatova, lecturer of the Department of Languages, presented our library with 548 textbooks in Korean language from the “Educational Centre” organised under the Embassy of South Korea in Uzbekistan.
     On 18 September, a collection of books consisting of 9 volumes of rare manuscript copies issued by the Party Committee of Shandong Province of the Chinese State to Samarkand Regional Administration was handed over to the library of our university.
The information and resource centre of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage has a database of e-books providing electronic automated and remote access, and the Unilibrary.uz platform https://unilibrary.uz/ is available.
     This platform is located at the entrance to the library (reception) and is included in the table-shaped tablet. This programme includes 186,974 pieces of literature, 26,078 articles, 8,252 monographs, 20,896 dissertations. This provides an opportunity to read literature at a distance, to get independent education. In addition, a separate QR code tracking system has been created at the entrance to the library, which allows to remotely track all the literature available in the library and reserve these books.
     The HEMIS programme of the information resource centre of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage included 980 units of literature in the Internet network 17100 mb, 1 unit of monographs 12 mb, 40 units of articles 80 mb and 9 units of dissertations 40 mb. The HEMIS programme provides distance learning and independent training for teachers, researchers, masters and students of the university.
     The Information and Resource Centre has an electronic library, which is equipped with modern hp computers connected to the Internet network in the number of 17 units. During the working day 120 students have access to these computers.
Over the past year, various events, round tables and open classes were organised in the information and resource centre of our university in order to organise festive events and free time of students in a meaningful way, in which teachers and students took an active part.
