On November 29, an event was held at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage to raise global awareness about HIV and AIDS, timed to coincide with the World AIDS Day on December 1.

A. Juraev, a sanitary doctor of the organizational department of the regional AIDS Center, gave a lecture for the students of our university at the event. In his lecture the specialist told in detail about the fight against HIV and AIDS, factors of its occurrence. After that all students were given booklets prepared on this topic.

On the occasion of the “International Anti-Corruption Day”, December 9, a number of propaganda events, contests are held at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

Today, on November 29, another propaganda event on the theme “Fighting Corruption” was held in the activist hall of our university. The chief legal adviser of the tourism department of the regional municipality B. Mamedov attended the event and told that corruption is an abominable feature of the society and it should be fought with no less actively. After that, on November 28, diplomas were awarded to the winners of the contest “Best Drawings” among the students of our university.

The drawings on the theme of fighting corruption by our talented students are presented on the channel of our university.

Today, on November 28, the Chair of the Women’s Advisory Council at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, M. Abbasova, the university’s prevention officer, Sh. Qurbonov, psychologist D. Turdieva, and tutor P. Islomov held a roundtable discussion and an anonymous survey among female students under the slogan “A Family Without Violence – Towards a Prosperous Life.”

The event was dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (November 25) and the “16 Days of Activism Against Violence” campaign.

As part of the collaboration between the Association of Private Tourism Organizations of Uzbekistan (APTA), the “ADVANTOUR” company, and the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, Alex Ward, the Executive Director of the San Diego Tourism Complex (USA), conducted a lecture for our university students on the topic: “Travel Agent Training: Modern Approaches to Sales and Customer Service.”

In his lecture, the American guest provided valuable recommendations and insights into key aspects of tourism, such as welcoming guests, delivering services, and other important details. During the event, students also had the opportunity to get answers to their questions.

Today, November 27, His Excellency Viktor Boretskiy, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics of ESVA University, one of Slovakia’s leading universities, visited the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

Initially, the guests were warmly welcomed by the university administration and introduced to the facilities and opportunities created at the university. Following this, a bilateral dialogue was held between His Excellency Viktor Boretskiy and the administration of our university.

The purpose of this visit was to discuss the potential for student exchange programs between Slovak universities and the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, exchange experiences in organizing educational and scientific activities, and explore prospects for cooperation in implementing joint projects and exchanging specialists in the field of tourism.

The cordial and productive dialogue was significant as it defined the practical outcomes of future bilateral cooperation.

Today, November 27, on the occasion of the International Day against Corruption on December 9, “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage held a contest “Best Drawings” on the theme “Youth Say No to Corruption”.

Students of all courses of our university took active part in the event. Mostly our students demonstrated their talents by drawing on such topics as the fight against corruption in our society and its processes.

The awarding ceremony of the winners of this competition will be covered by the official channel of our university.

Today, November 26, 2024, the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage proudly hosted a delegation from Gunadarma University, Indonesia. This visit was initiated by the Rector of Gunadarma University, Professor Ye.S. Margianti (SE, MM).

The delegation included heads of the Faculty of Medicine of Gunadarma University, faculty members, and junior staffs. The visit included a tour of the UN Tourism Academy Samarkand Campus, Soekarno garden, established on the university grounds during the visit of the 5th President of Indonesia, Ms. Megawati Soekarnoputri and university facilities, including the Indonesia Hub at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, a key symbol of the growing academic and cultural ties between the two institutions.

As part of this meaningful visit, an International Workshop on Medical Tourism was held, providing a platform for knowledge exchange. Esteemed delegates from Gunadarma University delivered insightful presentations, while faculty members from “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage shared their expertise on the topic. At the end of the seminar, books were donated for our university library on behalf of Gunadarma University.
