The "Real Economy" department of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service will hold an international scientific-practical conference on March 25, 2025. Professors, doctoral students, independent researchers, scholars, master's students, undergraduate students, and industry specialists from higher education and research institutions are invited to participate.

Conference topics:
 Theoretical and practical aspects of modern technologies and structural changes in the service sector
 The role of the service sector in socio-economic development
 Investment and innovation issues in the service sector

From January 22 to February 4, Irina Kadirova, Head of the Global Education Department, and Mekhruza Vafokulova, Lecturer at the Department of Tourism, were awarded the ITEC grant and are currently undergoing a two-week internship on "Empowering Women Entrepreneurs" at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) in Chennai, India. 

The ITEC (*Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation*) grant provides specialists from various countries with a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge in the fields of education and technology. The internship at NITTTR will enable our faculty members to enhance their professional skills, exchange experiences with colleagues from India, and implement best practices in the educational process of our university.

ANNOUNCEMENT

On February 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM, the defense of the dissertation by Khashimova Madina Muradkhanovna, a doctoral candidate of Silk Road international University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, will take place at the UNWTO thematic office. The dissertation, titled "Ways to Effectively Use the Ecotourism Potential of Regions," is written in the specialty 08.00.17 – "Tourism and Hotel Management" for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics. The defense will be held at the Scientific Council (DSc.33/01.02.2022.I.145.01) under the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

Applications are now open for the "Window of Shandong Scholarships" at Qingdao University for the international academic exchange program. A total of 10 fully-funded scholarships are available, sponsored by "Window of Shandong."

7 scholarships are allocated for Tourism majors.

3 scholarships are allocated for Cultural Heritage-related majors.

Selection Criteria for the Window of Shandong Scholarships:

Today, on 30 January, the chairman of the Women’s Advisory Council of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road” M.Abbasova, Rector’s Advisor S.Kulmuratov, Head of the Department “History and Cultural Heritage“ M.Sidikova held a meeting on the theme “Enlightenment against ignorance“ among female freshmen students of the 124th group.

During the meeting, the responsible persons paid special attention to the education of the younger generation in the spirit of healthy beliefs based on the principle of “Enlightenment against ignorance“. Especially in the process of globalisation of the 21st century, our young people receive various information through such means as radio, television, internet, which has a harmful ideological influence. It is known that to prevent any disease in the human body first of all immunity is created. The speakers drew attention to the fact that the fight against thought against thought, idea against idea, enlightenment against ignorance is more important than ever.

Video clips were also shown to the participants on the theme “Protecting youth from fanatical currents through education against ignorance“. The event was of great interest to all the participants. Such events will continue.

VIII International Guides Forum

On February 21-22, 2025, the Scientific Research Institute for Tourism Development under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan will organize the VIII International Guides Forum on the topic: "Tourism and Excursion Activities: New Challenges and Development Paths."

The forum aims to discuss pressing issues in the tourism and excursion sector, exchange experiences, and improve the guide training system.

The leadership and professors of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage are invited to participate in this important event.

Today, on January 29, at the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, an open dialogue was organized with the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, the Tourism Department of Samarkand region, and tourism entities operating in the region, alongside media representatives. 

In the open dialogue, Umid Shadiev, the chairman of the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, participated online and discussed the work done in the sector and the tasks ahead. The Deputy Governor of Samarkand region, R. Qobilov, also provided detailed information about the number of foreign tourists who visited Samarkand last year, the work done in the service sector for guests, and future plans. Importantly, in the open dialogue, the issues and suggestions of entrepreneurs working in the tourism field were also heard. Proposals and questions raised were answered by the relevant authorities.
