#As part of the "Travel Across Uzbekistan"!

Рroject, a group of students from “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage took part in a practical trip to Shahrisabz, the homeland of Amir Timur, to explore this historic city.

Shahrisabz is one of the ancient and beautiful cities of Uzbekistan, and its historical center is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During the trip, the students gained valuable information about the Ok Saroy complex, the Shahrisabz History Museum, the Hazrati Imam Mosque, the Timurids' Mausoleum, the Kok Gumbaz Mosque, the Dor ut-Tilovat Memorial Complex, Dorus-Saodat, the Mausoleums of Shamsuddin Kulol, and Gumbazi-Seyidon

Importantly, the government has been actively promoting the "Shahrisabz – City of Festivals" concept, highlighting the city's great potential as a cultural and tourism center.

The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, regardless of their group or course. Articles are accepted in Uzbek, Russian, or English. The first three articles recognized as the best will be awarded certificates by the university administration.

Requirements for the design of the article text:

  • the text of the article must be edited in the following format: Times New Roman font, font size 14, single spacing, 3-5 pages;
  • the author's full name, surname, course and group, phone number and email address must be indicated above the topic of the lecture.
  • after the topic, an abstract, keywords in three languages (Uzbek, Russian, English) and the content are given.
  • at the end of the article, a separate scientific and theoretical proposal and recommendation must be made;
  • text borders on the page: top - 2 cm, bottom - 2 cm, right – 1.5 cm, left - 3 cm;
    • the text of the article is provided in 1 copy in printed form and in electronic doc or docx format.
      Deadline: articles are accepted until February 5, 2025.

On January 20th, a meeting with Ferah Cuneri Bircan, a skilled entrepreneur and manager with 25 years of experience in the fields of gastronomic tourism and hospitality business, was organized at the initiative of the HoReCa Department at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage . During the meeting, Ferah Cuneri Bircan spoke about the vast opportunities in Samarkand's gastronomic tourism and hospitality business and emphasized the importance of utilizing these opportunities wisely and correctly. 

                    The entrepreneur gave a presentation on what students should focus on in order to become qualified specialists in the field, based on his life experience. During the open dialogue, the entrepreneur answered the students' questions of interest.

At the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, a winter camp for students was organized under the "Travel Across Uzbekistan!" program. 

The winter camp lasted three days. On the first day, a seminar-training session was held on the current opportunities of tourism destinations in Samarkand city. During the seminars, qualified specialists from our university shared engaging information: Ruxshona Rofeyeva, a lecturer from the "Tourism" department, presented on the topic "Uzbekistan is a hidden gem," and Shodikulova Mohigul, a lecturer from the "History and Cultural Heritage" department, spoke on "Important elements in tour guide activities."

On January 19 of this year, a free masterclass on preparing the Japanese national dish, sushi, was held at the Tourism Academy under our university. The event was organized in collaboration with the HoReCa department, the Nara Prefecture of Japan, and the "Nara Academy" language center in Samarkand, with participation from experienced Japanese chefs.

The sushi preparation process was conducted in partnership with Japan's Uemori Sushi School and the Nara Academy, featuring practical training sessions on making authentic Japanese sushi.

The event was attended by university students and head chefs from restaurants and cafes operating in Samarkand. Such practical sessions are considered valuable for enhancing our students' knowledge and skills in international service standards.

On January 16 of this year, M.Ismailova, assistant teacher of the Department of Tourism, invited Bekzod Saliev, Chief Inspector of the Samarkand Regional State Tax Department, to her lesson on the topic “Distribution of Income and Poverty. Taxes”. The specialist presented important information to the students on the topic. In particular, he presented important information on significant topics such as the economy, income, and important aspects of taxes.

Today, On 17 January this year, the Chairperson of the Women’s Council of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road” M.Abbasova held a spiritual and educational event on the theme “Today’s girl – tomorrow’s builder of the future!” for female students on the threshold of creating a family. A round table and master classes were organised at the event.

The meeting was actively attended by a psychologist, tutors of the 1st and 2nd years, faculty and staff of the university. As well as women-activists and representatives of the older generation from “Sogdiana” and “Mulla Kalandar” mahallas of Samarkand city M.Mavlyanova, S.Aslamova, L.Nabieva and O.Aslamova.

The women, who have gone through fire, water and copper pipes in their lives, told about the secrets of a happy family, motherhood, harmonious relations between husband and wife, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. The students were also taught to apply in practice the bride’s tasks, which are considered to be the jewellery of oriental etiquette. At the end of the meeting, the guests provided the students with literature that will be a practical guide for them in conducting family relations.

The event aroused great interest among all the participants. Such meetings will be held regularly.

A million ideas and desires appear in our head every day, but, as a rule, in a chaotic order. So, in order to order the chaos of thoughts and direct the energy flows in the right direction, it is necessary to clearly formulate and visualise desires.

The popular psychological technique Dreams Map of Wishes was first practiced at the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road” at the training organised with the students-activists of the university together with psychologist Dildora Turdieva.

At the event, which was held in a positive manner, the students created a personal map of their desires. D. Turdieva shared psychological recommendations on effective ways to achieve dreams and proper goal setting. All participants received great motivation.
