Scientists of the brotherly countries, in the pursuit of common goals.

Another prestigious conference - the next meeting of the Union of Turkic World Universities of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Samarkand. The international event held at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage brings together representatives of leading universities of Turkey and other Turkic countries to seek ways of cooperation in the field of higher education based on mutual exchanges of ideas.

It should be noted that on October 3, 2009, in accordance with the Nakhichevan agreement, the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries was established, the main goal of which is to develop comprehensive cooperation between the countries.

Uzbekistan officially became a member of this Council in September 2019.

In 2021, at the Istanbul summit, a new page was opened in the history of the Council - it was renamed “Organization of Turkish States”.

At this time, not only the name of the organization changed, but also updates were observed in terms of content. A clear proof of this is the fact that the strategic document for 2040, called the Turkish World Vision, has been adopted and the goals are aimed at four areas. In particular, these include the improvement of political, trade-economic, relations between peoples and the relations of the Turkic states with the international community.

It is also important that the concept envisages the activation of scientific researches, turning the cooperation of the Union of Turkic-speaking universities into a leading mechanism, the creation of sources of scientific articles at the disposal of scientists, researchers and students, and the creation of a common international index for scientific journals of the member states.

In his speech at the first summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Samarkand in 2022, the head of our state, Shavkat Mirziyoev, put forward the initiative to hold the “International Congress of Science and Innovation of the Youth of the Turkic World” in Uzbekistan in 2023.

In fact, the Council of the Union of Turkic World Universities was established in 2013. Currently, the Union has more than 40 members from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Hungary. “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Uzbekistan, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi and Koqon University are members of the alliance.

In general, the International Turkish Academy, which serves to coordinate scientific research and create a single space of universities of the Turkic world, works within the framework of the Union of Turkic-language universities, because the Turkic countries are connected with each other by historical, cultural and spiritual ties.

The next conference of the Union in Samarkand is organized for the purpose of strengthening cooperation and friendship, development of education, discussion of issues related to scientific research.

The events mainly discuss the possibilities of expanding and strengthening cooperation between member universities of the union, sharing experience and knowledge, and developing joint educational and research programs. In addition, the session will consider student exchange initiatives between universities of the Turkish world, creating internship programs for students, and the possibility of allocating scholarships to them.

In general, the implementation of the initiative of the head of our state will lead to the following results in the near future:

- an intellectual platform will be created for young people, and the exchange programs of young scientists and researchers will be further developed;

- unites scientists and innovators who have achieved significant results in their scientific work, representatives of scientific and educational institutions, and young winners of various competitions;

- brings closer his views on the training of young specialists, conducting scientific research policy, involving the young generation in scientific programs and processes;

- Stimulates the research and educational activities of young scientists, brings out their creative abilities, and also encourages the development of their intellectual potential.

It is also decided to discuss important issues in improving the provision of high-quality education in the higher education system by developing general education standards.
