Today, February 23, the Samarkand Puppet Theatre hosted the national contest "Best Theatre Performance among Universities". Teams of students from all universities of Samarkand participated in this competition. Happily, the active participation of the student theatre group organised at our university made a very good impression on all the spectators. The theatre group of our students under the guidance of our university teacher Odiljon Boynazarov took part in this competition with the work "Trap", staged by Alijon Hasanov, and was honoured with applause.

The team of our university took part in the intellectual game "Zakovat"In paragraph 8 of the programme "On measures to implement the state youth policy in the system of the Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Tourism" was instructed to hold an intellectual game "Zakovat" among young employees and students.

In this regard, on 23 February of the current year in the hotel "Movenpik" of Samarkand was held intellectual game "Zakovat" in the field of tourism among young employees of all branches of tourism of the region, as well as students studying in this specialty. In the intellectual game, in which 12 teams took part, questions related to the provision of services in the field of tourism, as well as in the field of science and education were answered. It is important to note that in this knowledge contest the activity and aspiration for knowledge of the team "Silk Road", consisting of talented students of our university, distinguished themselves and according to the general results were recognised worthy of the third place.

It is known that the contribution made by representatives of Samarkand School of Turkology to science and research is recognized by world centers of Turkology. Recently, the famous Turkologist-scientist, First Vice-Rector of our university Prof. Joliboy Eltazarov, from the famous Institute of Turkology at the Istanbul University of the Republic of Turkey, received this article from "Türkiyat Mecmuası" ("Journal of Turkology"), which has been published in this scientific center since 1925. received an offer to cooperate in the activity of a prestigious scientific publication as a member of the editorial board. He is the author of 20 books, textbooks and monographs and more than 200 articles in the fields of Turkology, Uzbek linguistics, Turkic world studies, and in the following years, 20 articles on the current problems of Turkology were published in Turkish and world scientific publications in different languages. for his services, he was considered worthy to be a member of the editorial board of "Türkiyat Mecmuası". I accept being a member of the editorial board of the journal "Türkiyat Mecmuası" of the Institute of Turkology at Istanbul University, which was established on the initiative of the Great Atatürk, as a high assessment given to Turkology research in our country and Samarkand State University, and this blessing is in the activity of the scientific publication. Joliboy Eltazarov has been a correspondent member of Türk Dil Kurumu (Turkish Language Academy) since 2020, and the scientist was awarded the international Chingiz Aytmatov medal by TurkSOY in 2023.

Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan, Rector Aziz Abdukhakimov handed the award.

Employees of the department marketing and recruiting of our university hold various meetings and round tables in all secondary schools of Samarkand. Everyone knows that these days various events are being held throughout the country within the framework of the month “Prevention of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Spread among Youth”.

In this regard, Dildora Turdiyeva, a psychologist of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, together with students held a campaign “Value life, don't waste it!”.

As part of the implementation of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of 26 April 2023 “On additional measures to accelerate the development of the tourism potential of the Republic and further increase the number of local and foreign tourists”, in accordance with the “Road Map” for the integrated use of resources and opportunities in the field of tourism and the early resolution of existing problems in 2023, it was planned to build and operate a dormitory on the basis of public-private partnership with “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

Over the last year, construction began, and within six months the dormitory building was built and put into operation. The rector of our university A. Abdukhakimov attended the opening ceremony of the dormitory. At first, the rector of our university familiarised himself with the tourism projects to be built in the city of Samarkand and the Technical School of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and gave his necessary recommendations. After that, with the participation of the rector and other officials, a symbolic ribbon was cut for the opening of the dormitory building and familiarisation with the conditions and facilities created for the students took place. The dormitory building with all necessary conditions is designed for four hundred places and consists of five floors. Each room is designed to accommodate four people, which creates such conditions as rest, laundry, preparation for lessons, cooking. The hostel has also created sports clubs for international and local students, a library, and a garden has been built around the building.

“I have been living in the dormitory of this university for three months now, and I personally like the conditions here very much. It has all the equipment a student needs. I am happy that everything is here for us to prepare lessons, relax, do sports, go out,” says Kahaya Trinala Kinanti, an Indonesian student.

In addition to organising various activities on a regular basis to provide meaningful youth leisure activities, the dormitory has also set up professional club activities.
