Scientific research department of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage announces project contest within the “Technoways” technological development marathon for students.
Projects are accepted for selection in 3 directions:
- practical projects,
- start-up projects,
- scientific projects.
Participants can participate in the competition as a team or individually.
3 places will be determined in each direction.

The authors of the projects that were found to be the best in the competition will be encouraged with money in the amount of 3 times of the BSA (basic stipend amount) for the 1st place, 2 times of the BSA for the 2nd place, and 1 times of the BSA for the 3rd place.
On November 15 at 14:30 in room 108 of the university will be held a seminar on “Improving the mechanism of management of sustainable tourism in the region (on the example of Samarkand region)”, which is organized by the basic doctoral student of Westminster International University Rakhimova Nilufar in Tashkent and “Department of Scientific Research” of our university on specialty 08.00.17-“Tourism and hotel activity” 08.00.13-“Management” in order to obtain a PhD degree.
We invite to the seminar all those who are interested in this topic.
The Department of Scientific Research of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage determined 3 places according to the results of the competition “The Best Innovative Projects”. According to the results of the competition, the authors of the projects recognized as the best were awarded cash prizes and certificates in the amount of three times the amount of the “basic scholarship” for the 1st place, two times the amount for the 2nd place and one time the amount for the 3rd place.
As you know, the 25th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization held in Samarkand on October 16-20 of this year. Students of our university participated in this prestigious event as volunteers. Yesterday, the Embassy of Kuwait in Uzbekistan sent an appreciation letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan to our student-volunteer Erkinov Rustam, who guided the delegation of Kuwait.
The staff of our university will also be pleased to recognize the productive work of this student at the prestigious event.

On November 25, 2023, at 11:00, in the conference hall of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage within the meeting of Scientific Council DSc.33/01.02.2022.I.145.01 which grants scientific degrees in economic sciences, the defense of dissertation work on the topic “Improving the organizational and economic mechanisms for the development of business tourism in the regions (on the example of the Samarkand region)” of Samiev Siroj Saitovich on specialty 08.00.17 “Tourism and hotel activities”, an independent researcher of Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
On November 3 of this year, a group of students of our university organized a trip to the “School of Riders” at the Samarkand Regional Directorate of the National Guard. On the same day, servicemen and students competed with each other in equestrian sport. This showed the skill of the participants and their ability to control a horse.
University students also took an honorable place in equestrian sport.
A delegation led by Mr.Sitesh Kumar, Second Secretary of the Embassy of India in Uzbekistan, Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Center for Indian Culture, visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. Vice-rector of the university J.Hoffman welcomed them. It is known that today our university has 6 students from India among many countries of the world. As part of the events, the guests first met with the students of our university. During the meeting, the youth received information about strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and India today. The young people also received answers to their questions. After that, the guests got acquainted with the exhibition of paintings by Indian artists and Indian national cuisine.
At the end of the conference, certificates and souvenirs were presented to active and talented students.
On November 8 of this year, the leadership of our university and the primary trade union organization widely celebrated the holiday November 11– Trade Union Day. Firstly, on this holiday, competitions were held among the teachers and staff of our university in such sports as mini-football, chess, checkers, table tennis. The competitions were held in uncompromising conditions. Especially in the mini-football competition the team of the office registrar department of our university was awarded the 1st place, the 2nd place - the team of the rectorate and the 3rd place - the team of the accounting department. The winners in the other sports were also selected.
On the occasion of the celebration, an awarding ceremony of the winners of the sports competitions held in the conference hall of our university. Suhrob Rafikov, chairman of the Samarkand regional council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, who spoke at the event, congratulated all the participants on the holiday and spoke about the work carried out by trade unions in the region today. After that, the main part of the event was followed by awarding the winners of the competitions. The participants and winners of the competitions were awarded with certificates of appreciation and gifts.
Examination procedures for applicants who have applied for the qualifying examination in the speciality of 08.00.17- “Tourism and hotel activities” at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage has been scheduled to take place at 2:30 p.m. on November 28, in room 108 of the university building.
Candidates are asked to come to the place of the qualifying examination half an hour before the beginning time together with their personal identification documents (passport) as well as researchers’ dissertation abstracts.

On November 7 of this year, members of the delegation headed by the President of Institute for Development of International Relations of Slovakia visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The Vice-Rector of the university J.Hoffman welcomed the guests. It is known that today our country established close cooperation with many European countries. As a result, a number of practical activities are carried out between the states in such fields as science, tourism. The guests carefully familiarized with the National Gallery of Costumes of the Turkic World at our university, laboratories in the field of tourism for students. The members of the delegation were also very impressed with the library in our university and the books in it, the opportunities created for students.
