In order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from March 1, 2022 DP-146 “On the organization of the State Committee on Family and Women’s Affairs” together with the Department of Family and Women of Akdarya region and the Women’s Council of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage organized short-term training courses for women-activists of 35 mahallas of the region.
M.Abbasova, Chairperson of the Women’s Council of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, R.Toshniyozova, Head of “Tourism Management” Department, M.Sidikova, Head of “History and Cultural Heritage” Department, F.Boboev, lawyer of the university, and D.Turdiyeva, psychologist, participated in the training course and the lectures “On mechanisms for implementing the tasks set by women activists in the mahalla in normative and legal documents”, “The role of national, spiritual and moral values in strengthening the family”, “Psychological assistance to the family and promotion of a healthy lifestyle”, “Study of social problems in the mahalla by women activists, organization of the provision of social services and the procedure for coordinating the activities of public structures” were delivered.
On August 22 of this year, under the leadership of the Women’s Council of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, M.Abbasova, with the participation of a specialist of the neighborhood work and events department and a group tutor have visited homes of a number of communities in Samarkand to place a number of female students for the new academic year. The university experts first met with the head of the “Alisher Navoi” neighborhood, assistant to the mayor, women’s activist, youth leader, prevention inspector, and the chairman of the council for working with intellectuals and youth. After that, they had a close conversation with the owners of the tenant houses in the neighborhood and got to know the conditions created for the students in the houses.
On August 23 of this year, “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage held an event dedicated to the awarding of the national dress, which was recognized as the best in the beauty contest held last year in Tokyo, Japan. It is known that the representative of our country, Nigina Fakhriddinova, participated in the “Miss International-2022” competition held in Tokyo, Japan, and won the “Best national dress” category. This news was widely shown through the world mass media, and warm thoughts were expressed about the values of the Uzbek people.
National costumes are one of the masterpieces of the Uzbek people, and in the true sense, they are the pride of our people. General Council of Turkey in Samarkand Salih Janer, Rector of Samarkand International University of Technology Yu.Abdullaev and other foreign scientists, art critics and representatives of the general public and mass media took part in the event. The event was opened by J. Eltazarov, First Vice-Rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. After that, a symbolic ribbon was cut, and all participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with this national dress. Also, during the event, a press conference was organized for the mass media, where they talked about the “Miss International-2022” contest held in Tokyo, Japan.
“The national dress on me and the patterns on it are one of the national values of the Uzbek people, and it is unique in the world. I took part in the competition wearing it and was applauded by the audience when I went on stage” said Nigina Fakhriddinova, the winner of the international competition.
On August 19 of this year, in the large conference hall of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" at the Scientific Council numbered DSc.33/01.02.2022.I.145.01 under the university, Abdurakhmanova Aqida Fayzulla qizi, the main doctoral student of the Samarkand branch of the Tashkent State University of Economics, at 08.00.17 - in the specialty “Tourism and Hotel Operations” The defense of her dissertation on the topic “Improving methods of effective use of ecological tourism potential in the regions” for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and on the same day, the independent researcher of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service Abdullayeva Zulfiya Izzatovna, in order to receive the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the specialty “Tourism and Hotel Operations”, dissertation on the topic of “Ways to improve the organizational and economic mechanism of hotel business development” defense of her work was held.
On August 21-26 of this year, the teacher of Korean language and culture of the Department of “Languages”, senior lecturer Munira Baymatova is undergoing a traineeship in the Republic of Korea within the framework of the international education and exchange program. This program is aimed at strengthening cooperation between specialists in the field.

In the swimming pool of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, swimming competitions were held between schoolchildren of Samarkand city and youth of nearby mahallas. More than 200 children and young people took part in the competition. At the end of the competition, the winners were awarded diplomas and certificates.
On August 18 of the current year in “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage held interviews for the recruitment of tutors for the new academic year in the university. The first vice-rector of the university, Professor J.Eltazarov, heads of departments, heads of departments interviewed fully in English. The selection of employees was conducted openly and transparently, the level of English language skills, pedagogical experience and initiative of candidates were checked, candidates with high knowledge and qualifications were selected.
On August 18 of the current year on the basis of the regulation “On the order of admission of graduates who have successfully graduated from technical colleges, on the basis of interview to the educational directions of bachelor’s degree of higher educational institutions”, approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 17 from January 11, 2022, were interviewed with graduates who have successfully graduated from technical colleges.
Headed by the first vice-rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Professor J.Eltazarov, members of the commission interviewed applicants in the direction of “Tourism (by type of activity)”.
The interview was conducted in 4 directions, each of which was evaluated up to 25 points. The total maximum score is 100 points. The applicants who scored 67 points and above will continue their studies from the 2nd stage in their chosen fields of study.
