On July 7 of this year, a group of photographers consisting of participants of the “Meeting of Turkic World Photographers” project visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and got acquainted with the educational, scientific and cultural life of the university. A library created in 2018 with educational facilities, national costumes of the Turkic World and documents on political and social relations found in the archives of the state of Osman, an exhibition of portrait paintings of the Turkic World and a collection of more than 20,000 books made a great impression on the guests.
“I heard a lot about “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and I am very happy that today I have the opportunity to come here and experience the activities of the university,” said Guler Fiday, a participant of the “Meeting of Turkic World Photographers” project.
Visitors will be able to see the sights of the city of Samarkand on 7-9 July and take photographs reflecting the views of our people’s lives today.
Ramziddin Ergashev, a fourth-year graduate of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, expressed his gratitude for the knowledge he gained during his years of study and for his teachers.
Words of gratitude!
I recall 2019, when we started studies at old campus, which belonged to the Tourism College. At that time, I was planning to give up my studies at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and go to Korea.
However, very radical reforms, implementation of a credit system, 5-day education, the innovative 2+1 system, involvement of foreign teachers, and numerous other opportunities encouraged me to stay and give it one more semester. Little did I know, that semester would turn into years and lead me to this day, graduation day.
Then we transitioned to new Smart Campus, and for the last four years, we have had great opportunities while paying the old tuition fee of about 7 million sum. Therefore, we are quite lucky, aren’t we?
I know my classmates may find it amusing to hear such compliments from me because, in the face of problems, I was often the first to criticize in our group. However, I must point out that there is no other university in Samarkand that would accept criticism and strive to enhance the satisfaction of its students as our university has done.
Believe me, such opportunities are not readily available in other universities in Samarkand. We are free from paperwork, the traditional “zachotka” or “konspekt”, and most importantly, our university is free from corruption – at least I have not faced any during my studies.
In 2019, as a first-year student, I had never been abroad, never participated in an international event. Yet, during my four years here, I have traveled to 8 countries, attended over 20 international events, won competitions and scholarships. This is only a snapshot of my journey, and I am sure that many of my course-mates have accomplished even more in various fields. I am confident that we will continue to scale new heights in the future.
So, I want to take a moment and express my gratitude to our rector, vice-rectors, and all the professors for their unwavering guidance and support. Special thanks to my favorite teachers Farukh Shukurov, Gulrukh Yusupova, Umida Abduvakhobova, Takhmina Akramova, Sabokhat Kurbanova, Mironshokh Uktamov and Elena Salnikova, and all of our professors who have taught us, mentored us, and stood by us.
Once again, thank you.
Ramziddin Ergashev
