On 3 October of this year, a group of more than 40 travellers, consisting of members of the Turkestan Society in Istanbul, visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The first vice-rector of the university, Professor J.Eltazarov, welcomed them warmly and carefully acquainted them with the educational processes that students undergo today at the university, the library, rich in various literature, and the gallery of costumes about the Turkic world.
It is known that in the following years, co-operation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey has been developing at a high pace.
Today, Turkey is home to about one million descendants of Uzbeks who left for Anatolia with a zeal for modernity. These people have not forgotten their homeland, their ancient and beautiful culture of these lands, and their mother tongue.
“Among the members of Istanbul Turkestan Society there are scientists, artists, engineers, doctors who have visited Uzbekistan. They were very pleased with their visit to “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. We were pleased with the teaching processes, educational infrastructure and the gallery of magnificent works of art at this university. We are certainly happy to have such a world-class tourism university in our homeland,” said Akbar Yassaviy, Chairman of Istanbul Turkestan Society.
