These days, the 32nd anniversary of our independence is widely celebrated in all cities and districts of Samarkand region. During the festive events, our people celebrate this greatest and dearest holiday of ours in a high spirit. The team of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage is also actively participating in the festive events that are taking place today in the New Uzbekistan Park in the city of Samarkand.
In connection with the 32nd anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on August 30 of this year, a spiritual-educational event embodying the main idea called “For a new life, for new Uzbekistan!” was held by the family and women’s department of the Samarkand region with a gathering of members of the regional “Smart Women” movement, district and city leaders of the “Smart Women” movement, and regional neighborhood groups.
In the events under the slogan “When a woman is happy, the family is happy when the family is happy, the society is happy!”, Chairman of the Women’s Council of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage M. Abbasova was also honored among those who have received special recognition for their effective labor activities for many years in the promotion activities under the slogan of strengthening family values, promoting the role of the family in maintaining peace and stability in society, the development of the motherland in New Uzbekistan, and the example in the development of children.
According to the order of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 376 of August 21, 2023, two more famous scholarships are available for students of the 3rd and 4th courses of higher education institutions: Pahlavon Mahmud state scholarship in physical culture and sports and Babur state scholarship in history and geography were added. Talented and excellent students can participate in the competition in these areas.
Department of Scientific Research
On August of this year, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Spain donated a new collection of books and magazines in Spanish and English to the library of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
These books are dedicated to Spanish history, culture, tourism, literature and architecture and will undoubtedly be of great benefit to our teachers and students in their research and teaching process.
It should be noted that under the leadership of the rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov, the list of books and magazines related to such areas as tourism, architecture, cultural heritage, art, history, archeology, ethnology, geopolitics, economics, cultural studies, religious studies, design, sculpture, which reached 26 thousand.
Now professors, staff and students have the opportunity to use books and magazines in Spanish, which are available in the university library.
On August 23 of this year, members of the delegation headed by the rector of Sakarya Uygulamali Bilimler University in Turkey visited the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The first vice-rector of the university, professor J. Eltazarov, welcomed the guests and spoke about the wide-scale work carried out at the university in the field of tourism, cooperation with universities in Turkey in the exchange of experience. Also, during the dialogue, the rector of Sakarya Uygulamali Bilimler University, Mehmet Saribiyik, expressed his opinion about the work being carried out at the university to train specialists in the field of tourism. During the meeting, the members of the delegation were introduced closely to the gallery of national costumes of the Turkish world at the university, as well as to the national costume that won the world competition recently presented to our university, and souvenirs were handed over to the guests.
In order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from March 1, 2022 DP-146 “On the organization of the State Committee on Family and Women’s Affairs” together with the Department of Family and Women of Akdarya region and the Women’s Council of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage organized short-term training courses for women-activists of 35 mahallas of the region.
M.Abbasova, Chairperson of the Women’s Council of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, R.Toshniyozova, Head of “Tourism Management” Department, M.Sidikova, Head of “History and Cultural Heritage” Department, F.Boboev, lawyer of the university, and D.Turdiyeva, psychologist, participated in the training course and the lectures “On mechanisms for implementing the tasks set by women activists in the mahalla in normative and legal documents”, “The role of national, spiritual and moral values in strengthening the family”, “Psychological assistance to the family and promotion of a healthy lifestyle”, “Study of social problems in the mahalla by women activists, organization of the provision of social services and the procedure for coordinating the activities of public structures” were delivered.
On August 22 of this year, under the leadership of the Women’s Council of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, M.Abbasova, with the participation of a specialist of the neighborhood work and events department and a group tutor have visited homes of a number of communities in Samarkand to place a number of female students for the new academic year. The university experts first met with the head of the “Alisher Navoi” neighborhood, assistant to the mayor, women’s activist, youth leader, prevention inspector, and the chairman of the council for working with intellectuals and youth. After that, they had a close conversation with the owners of the tenant houses in the neighborhood and got to know the conditions created for the students in the houses.
On August 23 of this year, “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage held an event dedicated to the awarding of the national dress, which was recognized as the best in the beauty contest held last year in Tokyo, Japan. It is known that the representative of our country, Nigina Fakhriddinova, participated in the “Miss International-2022” competition held in Tokyo, Japan, and won the “Best national dress” category. This news was widely shown through the world mass media, and warm thoughts were expressed about the values of the Uzbek people.
National costumes are one of the masterpieces of the Uzbek people, and in the true sense, they are the pride of our people. General Council of Turkey in Samarkand Salih Janer, Rector of Samarkand International University of Technology Yu.Abdullaev and other foreign scientists, art critics and representatives of the general public and mass media took part in the event. The event was opened by J. Eltazarov, First Vice-Rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. After that, a symbolic ribbon was cut, and all participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with this national dress. Also, during the event, a press conference was organized for the mass media, where they talked about the “Miss International-2022” contest held in Tokyo, Japan.
“The national dress on me and the patterns on it are one of the national values of the Uzbek people, and it is unique in the world. I took part in the competition wearing it and was applauded by the audience when I went on stage” said Nigina Fakhriddinova, the winner of the international competition.
