On 23 January of this year, the China-Uzbekistan Forum on Cooperation in Higher Education was held in Tiankai Higher Education Science and Innovation Park in Tianjin, China. The forum participants - representatives of universities of the two countries - heard the welcoming speech of Liu Yiman, Deputy Secretary of the Tianjin Education Working Committee, and Inomjon Majidov, Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan. On the host side, the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Cultural Tourism Bureau presented their reports. Importantly, rectors of universities in Uzbekistan also made presentations on educational co-operation.

The final part of the event included a ceremony of signing memorandums of co-operation between higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and China, as well as a joint performance of Chinese and Uzbek students.

On the initiative of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the territory of the Second Beijing University of Foreign Languages on 22 January of this year in Beijing (PRC) was held the Uzbek-Chinese forum of hundred universities with the participation of 37 educational institutions of Uzbekistan and 110 universities of China. Representatives of relevant ministries and embassies of the two countries, as well as representatives of educational institutions spoke at the plenary session. Within the framework of the forum, the “Beijing Declaration on Cooperation between Higher Education Institutions of Uzbekistan and China” was announced.

Vice-Rector Professor Tony Zou of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage made a presentation at the humanities section. In the final part of the forum, a ceremony of collective signing of memorandums of cooperation between educational institutions of PRC and Uzbekistan was organised.

It is known that certification and state accreditation of all state and non-state educational organizations in our country are approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 7, 2019 No. 470. It is carried out on the basis of the “Criteria for certification of educational organizations.”

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education”, this Regulation applies to scientific and educational organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan that provide preschool, general secondary, secondary special, vocational, out-of-school, higher, and postgraduate education. Regardless of departmental affiliation and organizational and legal forms, it determines the procedure for certification and state accreditation of state educational institutions and non-state educational organizations in order to improve the skills of personnel and their retraining.

Certification comes from the Latin word attestātio - “to testify”, “to confirm”, and today it is the main form of state control when assessing the activities of an educational organization; it consists in determining the compliance of the content, level and quality of personnel training in educational organizations in compliance with state educational standards and state educational requirements and curricula.

Accreditation comes from the Latin words accredo - “to believe”, “to trust”, it is state recognition of the compliance of the activities of educational institutions with state educational standards, and also gives the right to provide its graduates with information and approved documents.

According to this Regulation, “newly created educational organizations are considered accredited for a period of 5 years from the date of their creation.” It is indicated that “educational organizations must be accredited after the expiration of the specified periods.” Accordingly, on September 22, 2022, under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Department of  “Quality Assurance for Education and Accreditation” for the purpose of certification and state accreditation of our university, in connection with the 5th anniversary of the creation of our university, an application was submitted to the state inspectorate for quality control of education inclusion of the university in the plan for certification of universities of the republic for 2023. In accordance with this application, on the basis of the order of the head of the State Inspectorate for Quality Control of Education under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 27, 2022 No. 306 “On the organization of certification and state accreditation of educational organizations,” our university is included in the republican plan for external assessment in 2023. Based on this order, an order for the university dated November 9, 2022 No. 264 was prepared and an internal assessment was carried out, based on the order of the working group, based on a comprehensive analysis of the university’s activities over the last two years in undergraduate and graduate areas. The shortcomings identified during the internal assessment were eliminated on the spot by a working group; based on the results of the internal assessment, a report was prepared and submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Based on the order No. 97 of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 17, 2023 “On the external assessment of educational organizations,” an external assessment of the activities of our university is planned. May 22-31, 2023. The procedure for conducting external assessment was approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 7, 2019 No. 470 “On the procedure for certification and state accreditation of state educational institutions.” and non-state educational organizations”, based on the “Criteria for Certification of Educational Organizations”, developed in accordance with the regulations and paragraph 9 of these regulations.

Based on the order of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 7, 2023 No. 492 “On conducting tests on the level (knowledge) of students’ mastery of scientific programs,” tests were conducted on November 20–21, 2023 to determine the level (knowledge).

According to the conclusion of the external evaluation commission, the total number of undergraduate and graduate courses included in the external evaluation and received a positive assessment was 78%, and “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage was recognized as “Certified.”

The conclusion of the external assessment of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, presented by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was considered by the Senate of the university. The university administration also developed a Road Map”.

On February 10, 2024, at 11:00 am (university building room number 108) at the Scientific Seminar in the presence of Scientific Council numbered under DSc.33/01.02.2022.I.145.01 the defence of dissertations work will take place the dissertation work of Qodirov Azizjon Anvarovich, doctorate (DSc) student of Bukhara State university on the topic “Providing the methodological bases of mechanisms for the development of ecological tourism in the regions” in the speciality of 08.00.17-Tourism and hotel activities.

These days employees of the Marketing and Recruitment Department of our university hold various meetings and dialogues in secondary schools of Samarkand. The next meeting of the department staff was held on 23 January at the 37th general secondary school of the city, specialising in English. Basically, during the dialogue conducted by the high school graduates, detailed information was given about the activities of our university and the conditions created in it. High school pupils also said that they had a lot of information about our university, asked about what prestigious universities our university cooperates with abroad, about the opportunities created for students. These questions were also answered in detail.

It should be said that in the current academic year 187 pupils are graduating this public school.

In order to promote the activities of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, which trains qualified specialists of international level in the field of tourism, as well as the work carried out at this university to attract educated and potential graduates interested in this field to our university, on 23 January of this year, the staff of the Marketing and Recruitment Department held a meeting with 110 pupils of the 11th grade studying in the 45th school of Samarkand. During the meeting, detailed explanations were given about the activities of our university. Detailed answers to the questions of the pupils were also given. During the dialogue school youth were given information flyers about the activities of our university.

1. Discussion of the dissertation of the Independent researcher of "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Tukhtamishov Aziz Kahramanovich written on the theme "Improving the economic mechanism for innovative development of the tourism sector based on the cluster approach" on the speciality 08.00.17 - "Tourism and hotel activity" (economic sciences), for receiving the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD);
2. Discussion of the dissertation of the Independent researcher of Termez State University Khamzaeva Dilfuza Samarovna written on the topic "Priority directions of diversification and seasonality of tourist products" on the speciality 08.00.17 - "Tourism and hotel activity" (economic sciences), for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

         On January 19, 2024, Dildora Turdieva, a psychologist of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, held a motivational training on the topic “Happiness through self-love!”.

         The event, attended by faculty and staff, theoretically and practically explained how self-confidence is a great strength of a person, thanks to which he or she can be happy and lucky. With the help of special psychological methods, the skills of learning to accept oneself as one is, to be here and now, that is, to be in a real state, and thus to channel one's energy into one's inner world were formed.

         With the help of relaxation exercises the skills of looking into one’s inner world, seeing the mood in colors, self-control, regulating the state of mind were developed. Interesting team games brought positive emotions and good mood to the participants.

Every graduate of secondary school faces the question of what prestigious university I will study at and in the future I will get an educated speciality. Answering this question, now it will be necessary to start their way by entering “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and say that here you can get education of international level and become a qualified specialist in the field of tourism and cultural heritage. On 19 January of this year, the visit of the graduates of Pastdargoma District Specialised School No. 2 to our university also made a great impression on the school youth. They admired the fact that the students of our university study in conditions that comply with international standards. I plan to graduate the specialised school No. 2 where I studied and get an education at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage," says one of the pupils with an international certificate.

In accordance with Presidential Decree No. F-79 of 14 December 2023 “On measures to prepare and hold the celebration of the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Defender of the Fatherland”, on 22 January 2024, 1st year students of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage visited the military unit of the city of Kattakurgan and got acquainted with the library.
